im having an unusual problem, the gear lever got stuck in the reverse position yesterday and when i let the clutch out it wouldnt move as if it was in neutral. when i finally got it into neutral and let the clutch out it jumped forward. the gear selection is very difficult and i finally got it into first gear but then it wouldnt change to second without excessive force.
Any ideas what could be wrong?

sounds like you might have some linkage issues there!

gearbox id say! had same problem in another car.
it got stuck in reverse one night just after i got home (luckily) only way to select gear would be to have the car off,select gear and then try and start with clutch in.

Thanks for the replys...i hope its not the gearbox, its now driving normally, but the gear selection is stiff, am going to investigate it tomorrow, i hope its just the cables

does it whine in any gear?

it seems to have a whine in 3rd and s slight one 5th gear
Also now when its in neutral sometimes its still in a forward gear

love the marea so might get a JTD 130 are the engines as good as the JTD 110 ? Anything i should look out for on the 130? thanks
