Hey peepz!
After a good 5 days at the garage, and changing of a steering rack and knuckle joint, this mysterious click noise everytime I turn left has been diagnosed as the differential in the gearbox. Has any1 ever experienced this?
Any1 know if the diff only can be changed as I really am skint and have no money at all for a gearbox replacement.
Gearbox got replaced about a year ago from the same garage. But he tells me know that it only had a 3 month guarantee!:(
Even though the Bravo is the love of my life, I think it maybe coming to an end now:(
It's a 1.2 Yr 2000(W) 76.000 mls.

hey i had this prob and i cahnged the diff (yes you can change them sepretly) but then after i changed the diff the gearbox went too. you may be lucky and have caused no damage to your gearbox like mine did

How much did it cost u mate? Just the Diff changing.

Also was it making any sort of whirry/whistly noise on any gears? Mine is making sum kind of a noise when driving on gear 3??? :S

got my diff from scrap yard for about £25 then fitted it myself. as for the whirring noise mine did this after the diff change mine was 3rd and 5th tho and it was the final drive doing it

as Mick said, swaping the diff isnt hard at all

where are you based? i could probably locate and fit a diff for you cheaper than a garage would if your in the SE?

plus, a duff diff will make whiring noises while in gear aswell as a multitude of diff sounds

thats tooo true andy but there is a poss it could be gearbox but never know till u try it lol

I'm in East London mate. I know ur not that far from Ash, problem is, I'm scared of driving it down to urs. :( It feels very unsafe

Andy, u fink it's safe 2 drive it the way it is? If it is, how much wud u b able 2do it 4 mate?

I have the same problem in my old bravo. Its still sittin outside as iv got a new bravo. I had the clicking noises 2 when i turned , but all garages say 2 me that the diff cantr be changed seperatly :(

Eren, in that case I must be super man as with every punto box i put on i had to split the diff iff to swap the punto diff cups with the bravo ones, but as they cant be relaced seperatley i am completley making it up! 14 gearboxes and 3 extra diffs say otherwise

FoxE, thats right mate, im a further 5 mins down the road from ash (well maybe more if you dont drive like me...)

Ill have a word around and see if i can find a box for you mate, and also get a price on the diff seperatley, but I would suggest just swapping the entire box all at once, better safe than sorry and all that.

As for the drive over, is it just a noise you have? or does it feel like it looses pull from one side or the other while accelerating?

Yeh dats what the garage are sayin an all bout replacing the whole box.
The noise is there whenever I turn, last time I drove it clicked both when turning right or left.
There is a little feeling of the car pulling to 1 side (majority of the time to the left) and thats what scares me. It's like having 50/50 control instead of bang on 100%.
Hope u understood that as I have never experienced this before.

eren i have also just changed the diff and it aint overly hard.

andy- what do u need to do to a punto diff to make it fit onto a bravo box asd mine has started doing it again:|
