hi i noitced on my bravo radio that soem channels are coming through as poor reception

on other cars they are perfect and on normal radios
so why odes the odd channel come through distorted??

what needs to be checked and changed???

i Would start by asking what sort of stereo you have. If its the standard one does it have rds if so it should in theory keep the reception at the strongest if its not got it i would sugest fine tuning your self for the likes of radio one they broadcast on multiple frequencies try retung to something other than 97.8 same for radio 2 aswell.

Could be a couple of things. Does the area you live in generally have reception problems? RDS should eliminate that.

The co-axial cable from aerial to HU could be damaged.

Check that the earth connections at the aerial end are good and that the connector to the HU is on properly.

Is the HU cage earthed?

An ideal check would be to get another aerial co-ax setup, remove your HU and plug it in to see if there is any improvement.

hi the rception is fine for the whoel area and with other devices but 1 or 2 channels dont pick up???very distorted when it shoudl be clear?? others are cystal clear..??? hu is standard unit for bravos with cd changer attached.// will it be a cable wotn all channels be affected?? does the outdoor aerial be at fault anywhere??

Stations with strong signals will give better reception. If it's the aerial setup, it's the weaker signals that may be a problem.

I don't really know what to tell you except to check all connections and if poss try another aerial setup. You won't need to fix it in place, just plug it in and see if there is a difference.
