i have for sale the hgt disks, calipers holders and some weird big cog thing (cant remember what its called) lol
but its all you would need apart from the extra abs hoses and handbreak cable

which would cost 30quid for these extra parts

i was going to do this on mine but as im sellin up i no longer need

i have no idea how much this is worth so if your interested please just name a price

or even if your not interested how much is this sort of thing worth?

cheers

Hmmm, i wonder. When i did the conversion on my 1.8HLX, i was concerned that the abs pickup (that cog thing) might not match up with the one on the car, with different numbers of teeth or something. turned out exactly the same. mt thinking being that if it had more teeth, or less, the abs unit would thing i was going slower or faster than i really was.

HOWEVER, most bravo's dont have ABS so i wonder if that has any effect?

Has anyone dont the conversion on a car with no ABS?
i'm assuming that theres no problem, because it wont be connected to anything, whereas doing it the other way round, with a car that does have ABS, and putting non ABS hubs on would certainly cause problems

James just to let you know you don't have everything for the disc conversion on what you've listed. Important parts are missing like disc shield, washer ring, discs and pads and calliper carriers etc to name a few. You need to know what your doing when doing a conversion.

Buzz you don't need HGT hubs. The ones on the car will be fine. My hubs are the original jtd hubs.

@joske - yeh got the covers, rings, pads everything i need i bought it all off a guy who did know what he's doin ;) all i need is the abs lines and handbrake cable

or should i say all the person who buys it will need is abs lines n handbrake cable

ABS lines???? Whats that? Do you not mean brake pipes? No need for preference to ABS. Afterall they can be fitted to non ABS models and you not need the HUBs from a HGT.

ok brake pipes my bad

like i said i just bought this off a guy who knew what he was doin

i was then just gonna get a mechanic to fit it all

as i aint no mechanic n nor do i know much bout this sort of stuff

besides wasnt i asking for idea about a price rather than annons have ago coz ive worded something slighlty wrong i mean jesus brake lines if like joske says this should be done by someone who knows what there doing then they should know what im on about anyway ;)

on cars with out abs on the rear all you do is use the old hub/bearing without the abs ring.

cheers Ash. thats all that i was wondering about.

Its ACTUALLY not that hard a conversion to do!

Granted, i didn't actualy do it myself last time around, but then, i'd literally had the car a week, the old brake shoes were grinding through the drums, and alsothe front pads were replaced at the same time. I needed it for work. So into the trusty fiat specialist i went. 2 hours later and a new set of pads (i supplied the wrong ones) and it was all ready to rock. If i hadn't maxed out my credit that month i'd have put braided hoses on instead of the cheapo rubber ones.

Its a good mod to do, visually at least, though my car always seemed to have very strong braking after the mod, so i believe it also helps with that a little. might just be placebo though.
