Did a quick search, didn't get a definative answer, so here goes:-

As is typical, my high level rear brake light only illuminates on some bulbs. If I get another partially operable high level rear brake light from the scrappies, could I make one good one? Failing that, what are the odds on finding a perfect one at the scrappies?

Feel like I'm forever posting on here at the moment....car is getting some TLC before winter (and the MOT) sets in.

Cheers

Jeff

if your talking about a brava high level light, then you'll struggle to find one that isnt corroded on the inside.

The high level brake light consists of about 6 or so '501' bulbs. The same bulbs in your sidelights and numberplate lights. All you need is a screw driver to replace them.

Update

Finally got round to removing my high level brake light yesterday to follow the above advice.

Unfortunately a Brava boot mounted brake light doesn't have individually replaceable bulbs, you need a strip or more likely an entire unit. It's £25.64 ex vat from shop4parts so I'll be leaving it for now (thats for the whole unit).

A Bravo high level brake light may well have replaceable bulbs. Thought I'd update this thread in case anyone searches on it.

Yup i posted some pics before of one i took off to show someone who asked, loads of wee leds. I too have one here! Was fully working on the car, and can check it still is. ;) ALternatively get some leds, and do a bit of home electrics on it, looks easy enough, just remember the resistor so you dont fry the leds if there isnt one in the circuit.
