I have a Bravo 1.4 which is worth around £3000, i have recently seen another 1.4 with all the abarth bodykit on it for sale at £3200. The only thing is that it has had a new gear box and only done 45,000 miles would you guys advise me to keep clear (as it has been hammered) or is this a regular problem with Bravos. Thanks in advance.

What is your Bravo like condition wise?
How long have you had it? How many miles has it done, has it got much service history?
If your car is a good un, then I would recommend you keep yours and mod it slowly as you can afford it.
Better the devil you know.
The one with the kit could be a right dog underneath and could well cost you more than modding yours.

Re: Re: Advice on buying!

My bravo is in good condition. The One thing that bugs me is I have a 1.4s, which means no electric pack. I have put body coloured bumpers on it which makes a big difference. However the one I have been looking at, is a 1.4sx so all the electrics are there. I think you are probably right and keep the one i have then i know where I am at with it. Just tempting to get something thats already been modded and done already

Re: Re: Re: Advice on buying!

You'd be better off getting the 1.2 or 1.6. The 1.4 is the worst engine in te range mate.

What insurance group is the 1.6. It costs just under a grand now on a 1.4 but i would like something a bit quicker so a 1.6 sounds good.

My 100 16v is insurance group 7. Give Adrian Flux a call, they are mod friendly and love car club club members.

I have thought about sellin my 1.4 and gettin a HLX many a time but the truth is I have spent far too much money on replacin bits on my motor to flog it and risk gettin another bad fiat! if your gonna sell teh 1.4 dont get another one they are the worst engine in the range for fuel consumption and reliability!

Hello All,

I have just been quoted £800 this year. No mods. 18HLX and I am 31.

Have you a number for this 'Flux'?

Cheers,
James
