I have a problem with my 2006 X244 2.8JTD motorhome. Whilst driving, the engine management light came on and the speedo stopped working.
I found a quick solution on this forum from the thread mentioned below which helped me locate the problem to a heater mounted in a breather pipe. I've disconnected the heater, replaced the fuse and all seems well.

I can't link to the thread because I'm new but you'll find it If you search for "fiat ducato 2.8jtd motorhome fault codes" posted by goshawkpt

The thread doesn't say what the heater is for and I don't want to leave it disconnected if it's detrimental to anything.

Could someone please advise me on its purpose and whether it's worth replacing. Also part numbers and where to buy would be appreciated too.

Many thanks.

Thanks rayc, that is definitely the right part and thanks for the supplier info. Do you know if not replacing it would be detrimental?

The majority of UK vehicles aren't fitted with one we don't have to worry much about freezing valves or condensation in the crankcase if you were wintering somewhere cold like scandanavia etc might be worth replacing.

Thanks corcai. Our motorhome is fully winterised and we want to keep it that way as the Northern Lights are on our list. Thanks for all the help, much appreciated.

Worth doing if you are going that far north. Part is probably cheaper from citron.
