Hi All, first post!
Got a brand new Rapido A-Class on a Fiat 2.3 medium chassis, 1st registered in June '18. Came with a Kenwood double din head unit but basic steering wheel without radio and phone controls :(
I want to buy a replacement leather wheel with the controls fitted as we had that on previous Boxer (Bailey) van, but I'm told that the Can-Bus ECU will need reprogramming to accept the new controls. I know that I will need a Kenwood interface wiring lead and this is available.
So, can anyone recommend where I can get the software reprogrammed please? Incartec in Exeter was recommended but I rang them and they can't do this, only upgrade the head unit if the radio controls are already fitted.
I live in Cheshire but am prepared to travel for a competent technician.
Thanks and fingers crossed!

Nantman.. not too sure about the replacing of steering wheel for one with paddles for head unit.. whether there's a bit more connections to do which could be what Incartech are getting at.. however, the reprogramming issue... you'll need to change the settings in the system to tell it that there's a steering wheel with buttons (and you'll need to know what type of wheel it is.. it will probably be a Type A with 6 buttons).. then carry out a proxi alignment or the system won't register the changes properly.. be aware that during the proxi alignment process, your alarm country identifier and indicators command will revert to factory settings.. i.e. if your indicators didn't flash when door unlocked by button.. they will now or vice versa.. and the alarm country type may be just switched to no alarm... and you'll need to get them changed back too.. can be done via Multiecuscan (50€ licensed) and appropriate leads.. but to change the alarm country mode.. you'll need your 5-digit security code from Fiat !

Never read so much rubbish in my life

Would you care to explain?... Enlighten me, please... without being offensive, if you would.

You have to buy the adaptor plug off Rapido for kenwood radio to work with steering wheel buttons ,the kenwood radio won’t proxy align onto fiat ducato ,if you mess around with 5 digit key code and you don’t know what your doing you could wipe the keys , the key code has no relation to proxy , what you could do remove wheel air bag ,has clock spring got plug for wheel controls ?if no then the body computer may not be configured for wheel buttons ,the proxy of body computer set at factory so give your chassis number to dealer they can tell u if yours is configured for steering wheel controls ,yes I was rude sorry
