Technical new clutch

Technical new clutch

Make sure a new clutch slave cylinder is fitted as its inside the bell housing and would mean removing the gearbox again if it failed later on.

hi. ok didnt go for a soiled fly wheel stuck to factory luk kit as reading there was issues with the soiled one plus the luk was a lot cheaper . the old clutch plate was like brand new but the dmf had no resistance (springs fcuked ) so the verdict
is pressure plate tension weak due age --dmf fly wheel springs plus having a remap as she only slipped at 20.000rmp at the time the boost kicks in BUT the remap is staying on as i get a lot better mpg as you can see there is no blueing
anyway i treat clutches as if they are made of chocolate so after only 28,000 miles i am disgusted with fiat & the motorhome builders for NOT realizing
they are asking a van to pull 6 tons ( tag axle ) something has to give & after 48 years of driving & owning a multitude of vehicles & NEVER had to have a clutch fitted its just shyt . the fitter started at 8.00am i was driving it at 4.00pm i chipped in as well we stood it on 2 axle stands just took the grill & slam panel off

Super old post, but hoping someone will chime in. When replacing the clutch, the Fiat manual has a convoluted procedure with special tools for "setting" the clutch in place. Is that true? Is there a special procedure for bolting the clutch in place?
