While going to my Mum & Dads this afternoon my 5 1/2 year old Doblo passed it 50,000 mile mark.
Unfortunately at the time of buying there was no turbo option. On the whole it has been quite a good car for loading up with two kids plus pushchairs etc.
Excellent for taking the rubbish & old TVs down the tip.
Reliability when new was pathetic but since the three year warranty was finished it has been no bother.
The main faults with my Doblo are total lack of power & acceleration (63 bhp) also the gearbox is to low geared. When doing 70mph the engine is turning over at 3,200 rpm. A sixth gear would have been a blessing on this car but would only be any good on a totally flat road.
The car keeps up well in town traffic but once on the motorway it shows its true colours of being useless for any speed or long distance driving.
When on any incline be prepared for 2nd or 3rd gear just to keep moving. When travelling with the family from Manchester to Leeds we now use the Panda to save the embarressment of being overtaking by 40 ton lorries.
I am not to sure it will reach 100,000 miles in my ownership but I normally keep my cars till they fall apart or I give them to a friend in Liverpool.
Would I buy another Doblo? I am not sure, but it would have to be a 1.9JTD if I did.
