Hi. I've recently bought a Doblo 2015 Easy 1.6 Multijet. Unfortunately the head unit on this car did not include AUX in. I spent some time reading forum posts where people had tried to add it but there seemed to be some contradictions and people who had failed to make it work.

TLDR: If you have a Delphi F263 head unit and want AUX in then head to the bottom of this post where it will tell you which cable to buy.

This is what I did:

Firstly, the head unit I have:

Removal ended up being pleasantly easy. With a combination of two knitting needles and two allen keys to release the clips it then jiggled free.

On my car this unit has radio and CD with basic steering wheel controls for volume, mute, back/forward CD or radio and change source. Cycling through the source does not present an AUX option.

I started by testing if I could unlock AUX as a source option. This is done by shorting pins D OUT and D IN together.

The pins on the back of the head unit are extremely small. I managed to find some dinky female spade connectors which I crimped a short piece of wire onto.

Plugging this into D OUT and D IN allowed me to cycle through CD, radio and now AUX. Success! But could I actually get audio into it?

I took an old audio cable with a headphone jack at one end. Be aware that some jack plugs also include wiring for microphones which may make things more confusing. I cut the plug from the other end of the cable and stripped the wire back. The tip of a headphone jack is the left channel, the next part is the right channel and the main part of the headphone jack is the shield/ground. Using a multimeter allowed me to identify which wire connected to which part of the headphone jack.

I realised at this point that my spade connectors were too large so stripped the red plastic casing off them. I then crimped them onto the headphone cable and covered the exposed parts with insulating tape.

I then plugged the cable into pins AF L and AF R for left and right channels and the other LF labelled pin for ground.

I then squeezed the bridge cable into D IN and D OUT, after removing the plastic case from the spade connectors and using more insulating tape.

And success! The AUX in worked and I was able to play music from my mobile.

I now knew what the cable I needed to buy should look like. The crucial part is a cable which includes the bridge between D IN and D OUT to unlock the AUX in option which many cables seem to lack. I ended up buying the following:

This was from Amazon by a company called Ismartech and cost £9.99.
I can't post URLs yet, but the item on Amazon has the following title:
Ismartech: Aux In Cable for Car Radio Delphi Bosch Car Fiat 500 Grande Punto Evo Panda Lancia Y Alfa 147 with Jack Male and Rear
The cable seems well made and works correctly.

Hope this guide helps some other folk.
