Hi,
looking for some advice on my fiat doblo van, it was running fine, but after I left it standing for 2 weeks while I went away, on return it lacked power.. Especially before 2000 revs. Even really struggles to get up steep hills, my engine light came on after a while and I had it diagnosed it was the air mass censor.. I had that replaced, but still didn't change the lack of power. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

I have a Doblo 2008 hi top 1.9 Diesel multijet 120bhp and similar problem. I have no engine management lights come on but when I start up revs fine but on driving away seems to have little power, Once driving it picks up and accelerates great but at start quite bad. I could live with it but a give ways one day i'm going to come out and land a cropper, can anyone help please or refer me to a link with this problem.

I have replaced egr, cleaned MAF sensor, replaced DPF, and replaced sensor on the DPF.
My next thought is accelerator pedal as I believe it has a wired connection rather than a cable. I also have EGR blanked off with plate with 10mm hole in it to stop Engine management coming on.
Can anyone help

Air Mass fault doesn't always mean the MAF sensor is knackered.

I would be looking for a hole in a rubber hose in the intake system, from the intercooler and turbo.

If there is a hole in any of these, the forced air drops off, but the fueling still remains the same, so it shows up as an air mass fault.

The usual suspects are:

Hole in the rubber hose from intercooler to inlet manifold, they rub on the gearbox.

Same as above, but oil inside the pipe weakens the rubber and they simply burst, showing as a split in the pipe.

Stone through the intercooler as they weaken with age.

Worm drive (Jubilee) clip has rusted & fallen off the intercooler, allowing the rubber hose to blow off.

Sometimes they manifest themselves as a hiss while the engine is revved.

Can't be 100% sure, but it's worth a look see ;)

I have a 120 hp multijet and it has just started doing the same. About 1600rpm on a light throttle, you notice it more in traffic and low speed situations.
Starts and idles ok, but it feels like light surging from the throttle when accelerating.
I thought it might be the DMF or the pedal potentiometer, but now am suspicious it may be the veins on the variable nozzle turbocharger.
Not a cheap fix I suspect, they can coke up, causing stiction on its moving parts, leading to an uneven level of boost air into the cylinders.

My 105bhp 2007 48k Doblo did similar until I replaced the EGR valve(£130 from Europarts) it took me 2 1/2 hrs make sure you ware rubber gloves you'll need a tin of carburettor cleaner to help remove the sticky black gunk from the pipe work it runs like new now?.
