Posts: 1 Thanks: 0 Trader Rating: 0 | Fitting a door check strap... Hi there, I was wondering whether anyone has fitted a door check strap on the Doblo? This is the metal strap between the door and the body that stops the door from opening too far. The little bracket that holds the strap onto the door broke on my driver's side and, since it is all one assembly, I've had to source a replacement (which amazingly, I did easily on ebay). When I unbolted the old strap at the car body end, the old strap fell into the body - not a problem. However, by the look of the new one: I may not be able to insert it through the opening in the body and so will have to get at it from underneath. Is this is a case of undoing the wheel arch plastic cowling and getting in from there, or might it be accessible from inside the cab? Bit of a pain but the MOT is coming up and I think I'll need to do it to pass! Thanks for any help. PS I'm not really new - I posted quite a bit a couple of years back when I first got my Doblo, but lost my old account details.

With the 306 you had to take the inner door card and all the bits that go with it so as you can do up the bolts from inside the door. They are a pest if the doblos similar remember the step by step for when things go back together ![]()

Posts: 33 Thanks: 3 Trader Rating: 0 ![]() | Re: Fitting a door check strap... Thanks for the 'how to' to on this. Just in case it helps anyone, I would add when renewing the drivers side one: 1. The black plastic carpet (kick) trim is held on by 2 screws near the floor and a discreet 'pop on' connector near the top. The 'popper' will break off unless you are careful. 2. The grommet hole is not the 2" round one that is just below the fuse box door. It is the much larger one, 4" above. It has wires going through it and I could only open it enough to get the strap out/in. 3.Suggest you stuff some rag into that small grommet hole to stop the old/ new check strap dropping down into the door frame. 4. Also suggest unscrewing the black box that has some wires going to by the lower grommet. It it held on by 2 screws. Once removed, it gives your sausage fingers better access.
