After enabling the alarm on my Croma 2,4 JTD -06 (it was set to 0 from start) the "Bonnet open" warning light and message is displayed. I tried to find some kind of micro switch in the bonnet but there seem to be none. Anybody know how I can get rid of the message without disabling the alarm again? Thanks in advance!

If you didnt have an alram active, could it be there isnt one fitted
so you need to fit one to clear the message?
That was my thought also, so I tried to trigger the alarm and it does work as expected. Break in attempt was displayed on the panel afterwards.

Your 2.4 has a factory alarm, they all had it fitted. The bonnet malfunction is probably why it was disabled in the first place. There is a proximity sensor on the bonnet latch, it's a small black box on the LH side of the latch as you look at it from the front of the car. Reasons for malfunction could be:

Faulty sensor
Bonnet not adjusted properly
Latch not adjusted properly
Wiring fault

The problem is very likely to be one of the above. Hope this helps.

The small black box on the LH side of the latch is missing on my car. When connecting to body computer with FiatEcuScan parameter "bonnet" is "open" all the time. However, if disabling the alarm the message on the dash disappear. BC still says bonnet is open but it does not show on dash. Now when locking the car with remote indicators flash once. With alarm activated they flash nine times. Is there a way to fool the BC not to check the bonnet status?

I'm puzzled, why don't you replace the latch or fit the sensor and have a fully working alarm?

I suspect it's a lot of work to fit the sensor and wiring as everything is missing but I'll check it out. I guess it's easier just to bypass the sensor if possible.
