I have been thinking about getting a cheap second car for work for under £2k.

There is also a 2.2 with 48,000 miles but it needs a new coil pack and an ECU for £1700.

All the rest are £3k and above - some dealers still asking £5k.

Can one Croma safely tow the other to the garage when one breaks down?

You've no chance now you've told everyone about it though.

Not necessarily since the one I have at present is auto which can't be towed anywhere.

The seller's one of those time-wasters who says it's being advertised elsewhere. In other words, if the final price isn't high enough he'll say he's already sold it.

Go for the diesel.more reliable than the petrol auto.....at least the diesel has a fiat engine rather than a vauxhall

With £500 worth of work I would value it at £1200

But I don't want a VX lump in my Croma as well as all the other GM s*t* components already on it.

If i do go for another one it would have to be diesel.

I bet he paid more than that for the three-screen DVD system. A neat set up.

I don't understand people selling cars with minor faults. I'm sure it would make sense to get it fixed then sell it as working perfectly.

Absolutely, if the dash light is only the parking sensor why not get it fixed? it makes people suspicious.
