As seen on Top Gear last night...

After totting up all the 05- Cromas, I make it 1261 remaining.

I think there's some "noise" in the figures though, as apparently some were registered in the last year. It could be cars that were SORNed and aren't any more perhaps.

I also don't understand the model descriptions given - they're a bit jumbled, presumably DVLA's fault.

Doofer - some of those models are from the OLD Croma :bang: - eg the IE, IE Turbo etc. There is also a lot of duplication eg EL-ZA MJET JTD150 A is the same as a ELEGANZA MJET 150A etc etc...

1261 without the old cromas. Variations could be where cars were stuck on dealers premises, and a very few imports. And I can believe slightly different names for the same model. Not many seem to have gone skywards.

Wrong. As Keith says, the total is from adding up the 05- ones only. They're quite easy to distinguish at a glance, just from the shapes of the curves to the left of the list.

The slightly strange model classifications are probably DVLA's categories. However odd they are, I'm sure they wouldn't have registered the same car twice.

Try the Strada Abarth 130TC MkII club.

Only 6 registered and 32 SORN - just the 38 of us out there

Now that is very exclusive :)

And would add 6500 miles of track use, 83K miles total, 23 years old! and only parts failures/replacements I can readily recall are front and rear brake pistons, radiator and speedo sender unit.

Usual brake pads/shoes, discs, and exhaust of course.

Just wish Fiat made their new cars like their old ones!

I always wanted one of those - once tried to wangle one as a company motor. I could have pretty much what I wanted within a certain price bracket, the only provisos being it had to have at least four doors and it couldn't be a GTi (the company had an anti-GTi policy for image reasons)

"but you know boss it's only a family hatch back - doesn't say GTi anywhere on the boot lid.".

I nearly pulled it off too until someone ratted me out, B*st*rd!!. I shall not even mention the revenge I wrought for that one.

Sorry you missed out on a great car Radlet6 (aka original "Old Grumpy").

Actually Fiat have had many great cars over the years, in all forms of shapes, sizes, perofrmance, styling and trim. Few if any have been lemons. This is what makes the modern cars (most brands I suspect) so annoying. Designed and sold to last just until the warranty expires. After that no spares are readily available and none available from Fiat.

Maybe now that the credit crunch has really begun to bite manufacturers will rapidly understand that new car sales are falling rapidly and continued income will come from the support of their existing loyal customers and their existings cars.

NOT A CHANCE I suspect so can only hope :)

You mean like the 132 twin cam I did manage to own (black nor orange)? Always wanted a 130 coupe too.

Have also had a 126 and a 500 (before they were cool).

Hence why the missus has got her second Croma, registered end of December 2007, sat at dealer for 3 years and notched up 56 miles. First MOT passed, now 1400 miles after 6 months of ownership.

There were more of them their, namely 3 x 2.2 petrols and another 1.9 diesel but the 8v version.
