The Croma forum seems to be only inhabited by about a dozen or so people at any one time which is about just over 1% of the Croma owning population of the UK.

Is it possible that all the others are perfectly fine and we have the dud ones, or are they all as bad as each other and we we are just the gobs*t*s?

As I suspect it is the latter, it is a sad reflection on our society that only 1% of the population has something to say about a car with so many inherent weaknesses - some of which can be expensive to repair (although as I learn more about modern diesels I will concede that EGR and PDF problems are far from being a FIAT monopoly).

It is little wonder that manufacturers and dealers get away with what they do - this wouldn't happen in the US. To start they have 5 to 7 year warranties as standard, but that aside you could be assured that if the Croma was sold in the US virtually every owner would be on the forum, coming together to confront FIAT with a collective Class Action.

Most people just moan about stuff at their partner/friends/dog, then pay their dealer to make it work again.

We're the constructive ones who share knowledge and sort stuff out without spending a fortune.

My mate at work reckons anyone who visits forums are sad lonely people (including me), I just think he is envious that no one wants to talk to him, He drives an MG ZTT, which has had more faults than my Croma over the last 2 years by the way, and that's going some! :D

Ok then, so I am a sad and lonely person who has saved an effin fortune because of the knowledge sharing on this site.

It's great when you know more about your car than dealer. Perhaps you mate should join an MG forum so he can find out where to get cheap cylinder heads and gaskets for his ZT.

Well my wondering I hope will be a little more positive

I've had these problems (not a complete list)

Rear Tracking
Drive Shafts
Springs
Floopy Door Handle (one so far)
EGR
etc.

Only major missing item I think is the alternator.

I'm hoping that now I've got most of the Cromas issues under my belt that I'll have a really good car to hopefully drive for many years to come with little expense.

My next issue could be the rear screen bonding. I've noticed for a couple of years now a lightened ring around the bonding sealant possible indicating edge unbonding. No water ingress and a feeler guage confirms some integrity. At some point I guess I'll have to have the glass removed and refitted.

Like the above paragraph you can be sure I will be posting issues/complaints and better still praise for my Croma or any current or past Fiat that I have/had.
