I wanted to upgrade the engine from 120bhp to 150bhp by means of tuning. Would that mean the components wear down much quicker.
Also i was thinking of upgrading the dashboard to allow for the connect nav+. Is it worth it and how would i do this?

Thanks any advice would be dully noted

Can't comment on the engine tuning issue. Ours is the 150 model as we were advised that was the best enging to go for and has been good. (though see my posts on driveshaft/ERG problems. We wanted the satnav option too but it was going to be an additional €1250. How that price can be justified when there many other 3rd party ones around for a few hundred if that. So would be interested to know if you can get one fitted cheaply and is beneficial.

I can see your Fiat croma is the 2010 version, i thought there would be less problems with the driveshaft and egr valve. But anyway, i will try to go to my fiat dealership and see what they can offer for my 2005 croma.

Thanks for your advice beans

Not many remappers can cope with the DPF. If you can sychronise engine to transmission speed when changing gear (very few do) then you might get away with the clutch. I have a connect nav+, really part of the car. Very difficult to fit as an add-on.

Your money's better invested in an Icelandic savings account than a Croma.

I did read (on here) of someone having a slipping clutch after chipping up from the 150bhp model. I can't help imagining these remapping companies do the job a bit clumsily - take the existing numbers and add a bit, hoping they're adding less than the safety margin. I doubt they scientifically analyse all the increased pressures/torques that result from it.

There are some very neat aftermarket combined stereo/sat nav units that would replace your existing stereo, provided you can get a fascia plate to suit. I don't know whether it's a single or double slot behind the front panel.

Alternatively, try some premium diesel, a Tom Tom and a nice frothy pint of ale with the change (after driving).

40bhp plus 60 lbs ft from Angel Tuning for less than £300 at your home. Had it done 18 months ago at 40,000 miles now 60,000+ no problems but more fun!
