Bought some 18" alloys off Fleabay they have come with 245-35's fitted. Using the tyre calculater it says I will be travelling at 62mph when the speedo indicates 60mph. Now is this worth bothering about? assuming that the speedo runs slightly slow as I'm told most do at 60mph. Don't really want to go to expense of a convertor unless I have to. What have other people done?

Er. I changed the clock on an old corsa. Supposedly, what you can so is take the dash apart so that when driving you can actually touch the needle. Then drive side by side with a bog standard car at 30,40, 50,60,70 and 90 mph. When he gets to 30 check yours. If its out lift the needle off and reposition at 30. Repeat for the rest. ;)

My advice, dont even consider doing anything like the above.

I'd first see if those tyres fit without rubbing the rear arches (which they probably will not do), if they are ok, then try the fronts on full lock and see how it goes from there.

Do you know if they even go on top of the brembo's despite their size?

They came off a 20VT so there shouldn't be a problem.

 Stunning advice there Ross as usual

I'd leave the clocks well alone and just fit the wheels, the coupe speedo over reads anyhow so It will probably be more accurate with those wheels on :)

Has anyone actually tried what i suggested???? Huh???? Didnt think so...
