Hi,

Wasnt sure what to do with this. I was going to post for some advice, then I re-read the MOT fail sheet and I'm sure nobody is going to want to save this so perhaps advice isnt what I need, I just need to move it on for scrap or spares. I figured somebody here may want first dibs though.

I'll post some proper pics up tomorrow, as the attached one is from happier times, but essentially I have a black 07 plate Panda 100hp thats got until the 17th Oct before its MOT runs out, its failed on corrosion to the rear subframe, which has been getting worse over the years, but this is the first year they've felt its getting bad enough to fail. HY07 VAK if you want to check the sheet. Its got advisories for more corrosion too, hence why its probably not worth fixing up. I know you can finally get new subframes for these now, but with the other work needing doing, and we've had the cills welded up before, I feel I'll be chasing the rust now for the coming years and I dont have the time to make a project out of it.

Its in good enough shape to drive, and we're still using it whilst we source a replacement this week. I would normally just send this to the scrap yard, but i think theres still some useful parts in it for somebody. I'll list the positives and the negatives, and if someone wants to make me an offer, I'll gladly receive it. After the 17th it wont be road legal anymore which may make collecting it more complicated for anyone interested.

Positives:

Panda 100hp of course! -

Engine is good, its had water pump/timing belt/aux belt 3 years ago, and annual/10k oil services since.
It had a new clutch less than 15k miles ago, and is fine, gearbox is spot on, it doesnt use any fluids or smoke and has been looked after pretty good whilst we've had it, and prior to that a friend owned it for a good while. New alternator last year

I had a custom stainless exhaust made up to replace the repeatedly rotten steel ones. I couldnt find a decent quality replacement exhaust, so I had one fabricated. It looks almost standard, but is stainless from the cat back, and isn't designed to be noisy, althought it is perhaps slighty more fruity than standard, about 10%. This could be saved and swapped to your own panda, it cost a round £450 a few years ago, and is admittedly the most valubale thing on the car at the moment!

4 decent Falken tyres on standard, but tatty wheels.

runs and drives fine

Negatives

Its starting to be rotten,
has failed its MOT,
You can hear the rear shocks rattling a bit, I think the bushes have worn, its part of the MOT fail
rear corner bumper has had a knock,
scratched offside rear door
scuffs and marks all over it
Interior is also pretty scruffy

Let me know if you're interested, if nobody is, and I dont blame them after that write up! then its off to be scrapped.
