looking at being afantastic dad and buying my daughter a newer car. anyboby got any views on these semi automatic seicento. known problems etc. what are they like to drive etc. thanks

The Citymatic is known for eating its clutch actuator regularly.

It was pulled by Fiat after a short production run for a good reason.

Avoid! Its around £300 to repair when it does break

if she don't want a clutch , get her an auto mk2 punto speedgear loverly car and problem free gearboxes

or, a small clutchless car would the Smart Fortwo. I would avoid the citymatic Seicento though.

Thanks for that. It isnt that she doesnt want a clutch,justthat there was a nice looking low mileage one on ebay and I was interested toknow whether they were worth looking at. I will avoid them though,thanks for the info.

you can get all the bits cheap to make them into a manual though, if you are handy with a spanner, it could be worth doing that

could do but that would make it modified and as she is under only 18 insurance is difficult for modified cars so better to find a factory standard nice manual one. Loves her cinq but its abit longin the tooth now and she drives alot!!

The basics of the car are manual, so a run to the recyclers to retrieve the pedal box clutch cable, gearlinkage and, I think ECU from a manual one.
