Mmmm, think where the wheels would sit if you moved one strut, then how the car would drive!

Don't think so mate;)

iv looked at the turbo faq but it dosnt say much about the ut engine im trying to find some pictures of 1 done so i can se how much you need to hack away at the inner wings who has done this before so i can pm them to ask 1 or 2 things

Ok mate il try and help you out abit.
First of all you are probaly better off turboing a 1.1/1.2 as

1 - it will be alot cheaper
2 - you can get similar power gains (aslong as the uno lump is standard)
3 - it will handle
4 - easier to work on

You asked for pics to see where you need to "hack" the engine bay
Pics or even just looking at the car does'nt show all the hours fabricating that need doing.

Depending what you want from your car and how you use it are very big deciding points.

If you have further questions il try and help as much as possible ;)

HI

I have taken this engine conversion on using a mk1 1301cc uno turbo engine and I now have the engine in the car with everything lined up. You need to cut the drivers side inner arch around and make a decent base for mounting the engine on. The gearbox side does not require any cutting of the body just make an engine mount up-the same goes for the lower gearbox mount. I will put some pics up later of the progress so far.

thanks for that will be looking forword to the pictures
thats the same engine im thinking of getting i can get a full ut for £100 so i will have most bits. im a mechanic so most bits i can get done at work at the minute my chinq is off the road and i have the time to get it done and redy for next year as im doing alot to it. who knows might be at max power in a year or so lol (i wish) if its done right (y)

Some pics of the car at the moment. I am planning on having it running this weekend and then I have to take the engine out again and finish off and tidy up the engine bay as well as painting it. Also I will be rebuilding the engine before it goes back in for the final time. I have only just come in from messing around with the wiring and this should be done by the weekend. The pictures are of the engine mountings when they were first made and were not fully welded(in case someone says that the gearbox mount is being held on by a tack!)

Cheers Rich.
