Hi,

My car has a central locking on it but it doesn't work from a distance.
If I try to program de I/R sensor it reacts on the key.

The previous owner had a alarm on it but did removed it before I buyed the car.

I want to check the wires but where is the unit that controlls the C/L system.
Unit between the sensor and door system.

might be a good idea to look at the other central locking topic, apparently its a yellow box on the passenger side by the little shelf where the handbook lives

All the central locking stuff is in the passenger footwell behind the silly handbook shelf. If you remove the panel that covers where the clutch cable attaches it makes it nicely accessable. Theres a relay there and a control unit, the black one is the control unit. Think there was also a couple of fuses. (y)

Hi,

I did find the unit under the dash.

at the moment I checked 5 of the 6 wires of the IR sensor unit but one goes to the box wich is for security. (engine disable) don't know the right word at this moment. The 5 wires that i've checked should be oké.

2 goes to the relay unit of the locks.
1 to the interior light.
1 to the battery (key on of)
and 1 was ground. (earth)

It should be a box with just one wire.

Know I'm gonna try to give the code pulses with the red key in it. Maybe it will work.

The unit for the anti starting meganism is missing. This should be under the ECU unit.
The connector is there but nothing else. The cap that placed on it has some bridges in it. When I remove the cap the car won't start anymore.

This is the same connector (the one next to it) that is needed for the last wire of the IR sensor.

When I bought the car the man said to me that the locks were broken and that they have changed it but tha unit was to expensive to change it to. So I think I solved the problem but is there a possibility to relink some wires that the remote locking works again without this unit.

The car had a alarm system i think because I have a switch under the bonnet and the back.

The code light works as it should be (without the cap on the connector the light keeps on, and normal it goes off after a second.

Oh, and does someone have a manual to program the IR sensor.
I have it but only in german and english is a lot easier to read.

In the manual the say to swich the box of that is under the ECU before re-programming.

I hope this is clear enough to read for you guys.

Hi,

Today I went to some fiat dealers and they all came to the conclusion that the system isn't available in the netherlands.

So If I want to get some more info over this system I need to go to a german fiat dealer.

This unit is also a alarm system i think. That's possible the reason that 1 wire of the C/L goes to this box. This is to activate the alarm/start blocking system when you close the locks.

Does somebody also have a little unit under the ECU with 2 connectors? And have some pics of it and numbers.
