problem.

between 45mph and 55mph under acceleration there is a wobble.... worse the harder i accelerate.. (full power makes you physically wobble... wingmirrors shake ect.)

55mph pluss smooth and 0-45mph smooth also only problem is between that 10mph.

wheels are balanced (double checked and they still are) as its only under power im thinking engine mounts? but they are all fine. (drivers side is abit long in the tooth but not dead) or drive shaft problems..... but i dont know what the problem could be with them..

any advice helpfull... bearings arnt whirring either.

its just coming from the front in generall. not side specific really. will swap wheels front to back... but as they are correctly balanced surley it wont be them.....

im putting money on not the tyres had sets of these before no worries and they look fine.

Sounds strange but is your hubnuts ok (condition etc).

Wheelbolts would be a good check (check the threads on the bolts aswell), after that then try as suggested swapping the wheels around.

When did you have your wheel bearings changed last?

Is your handbrake cable ok? Not still slightly engaged onto the discs.

Warped discs would give one hell of a funky feeling, but could unbalanced discs cause problems?

Thanks

usually you would feel the vibration worse when braking if the disks are warped, but if i have learned anything its not to under estimate brake issues, they can cause strange problems that dont make sense. to be honest its probably not that if it does not vibrate when braking. but cant hurt to check. could be dry cv joints or bearings. they would be most likely if the mounts are ok.

just what craig wants to hear having just bought sonars :p

:eek::eek::eek::eek:

lol

how are the suspension bushes? dampers and top mounts ok?
any play in the drive shafts?
play in the steering rack when its centred? (main place it would wear)
hows the wear pattern on the tyres?

basically any play in the front can cause this and also the tracking.

are the tyres on the right way? most are directional.

what id do is take the front wheel off and check everything. and while there swap the front wheel to the rear then do the other side.

any play in the drive shafts?will have to check
play in the steering rack when its centred? (main place it would wear)no play at all
hows the wear pattern on the tyres?even wear

basically any play in the front can cause this and also the tracking.

When did you have your wheel bearings changed last?you will blame this but im telling you its not. but never changed in 210k. no noises no wheel play whatso ever.

Is your handbrake cable ok? Not still slightly engaged onto the discs.2months old, not engaged when driving

Warped discs would give one hell of a funky feeling, but could unbalanced discs disks brand new less than 1k ago

the wobble is only between them speeds and only when on the power. it isnt evident when cornering (unless at that speeds) there is also no accompanying noises or wobble upon breaking the breaks are smooth.

ill swap the wheels tomorrow but im certain its not that.

as brought up on fiat-scotland it could be my drive shaft vibration dudad as its completely worn away so ill have to get one of them.

i think its slid down the shaft slightly and its worn on my arch liner over time with being so low.... its rubbed all the rubber away... so its tiny compared to what it should be.... not hanging off though and as its rubbed it should be even wear just not as it should be...

ive got a old pic of it 5 month ago....

its alot worse than that now... but as it wasnt affecting it and with a hammer i couldnt move it and it was snowing i left it where it was... dunno what affect it would have though

Ball joints at rack end they would cause vibration rather then wooble.
Ball joints at bottom of Mapherson struts, ditto.

Did you notice the effect slowly getting worse, or what did you do last?

ive done nothing for a while... just noticed it one day... dont really give it some most days so never noticed it was worse till a bmw tried his luck.... it really is rather bad..

could my drivers side mount be playing up? doesnt look that good tbh

Yes thinking about it I'd do the engine mount.

If that does not work check both rear swing arms, if badly worn they could 'steer the car', is the car noisy noisy over bumps?.

Long term I'd do the drive shaft damper, it keeps the shaft in one piece, and helps the final drive to a degree. Fiat would not have fitted it for fun.

damage.
wing, bumper, bumper supports, bonnet, headlight, wheel, track rod, door, door isnt even straight, rear quarter, scuff to rear bumper

long story short. overtaking a friend in a carpark when he turned forcing me into the side of him..
fault 1 me for overtaking in a carpark
fault 2 him for not checking mirrors at all and blindly turning
sorting amongst friends and keeping it civil. he agreed 50-50 blame before i mentioned it at all. will be sorting specifics tomorrow..

watch this space i suppose.
