Okay,

So just noticed somebody mentioned snow foam in an earlier post... are there any guides on how to use this stuff?

Never used it before and it looks interesting.

cheers

billy

Basic principals
Rinse
Foam
Rinse off foam (this removes worst of the dirt)
Wash with 2 buckets and wash mitt (no sponges!)
Rinse
Air dry or dry with microfibre drying towel

Foam removes the worst of the dirt but isn't a complete replacement to shampooing by hand. By foaming first you reduce the risk to dragging particles (such as road grit) across the surface and damaging the paint whilst washing by hand.

Tris has a much more detailed guide here: https://www.fiatforum.com/car-care/188996-basic-guide-how-clean-your-car.html

no need to pre rinse before foaming you want the foam to contact the dirt and not be diluted further by coming into contact with a wet car....

you can get sprayers that go on the end of your hose pipe, but they arent as good.

Although, they do seem to get all the crap off, but the foam doesnt look as good

have you got a link to a website that sells the sprayers as our hose pipe has the power of a pressure washer

I have a autobrite one which i am going to stick on ebay in the next week (used 8 times) , along with 7 litres of snow foam.

I am also thinking of sticking my karcher pressure washer on ebay too.

As said before i would use the TBM, dont bother rinsing the car before hand, foam staright on, leave for 10 mins for the foam to get good contact with the dirt, dont pressure wash off as small bits of grit can scratch the paint, rinse of gentle and then wash using a mitt, i would then snow foam again and then pressure wash off.

I use to use a mix of snow foam, megs shampoo and a little of poor boys bug spray and then fill the rest with warm water.

Works a treat to be honest.

cheers

Im going to get a snow foam lance very soon but now i need to know which snow foam to use?
That pink stuff looks cool but what is the best for the money?

Many thanks
Matt

I can highly recommend the Valet Pro PH Neutral Snow Foam, it's very good value for money as you only need a couple of squirts from a dispensing pump to snow 1 large car or 2 small-medium. It produces THICK gloopy foam.

I also got my snow lance from the same website, which is solid brass and unlikely to fail and available in lots of fitments..

HTH

BTW- you have to order the pink foam via PM at the detailing world forum, as they are only trialling it in 500ml bottles to DW members atm at £8 IIRC.

I have a pro-foam lance that I am getting rid of (Karcher fit). I see you are in Brum so if you want it it's £30 to collect. I can let you have a Karcher gun & lance with it if you need one.
