I lived up to my promise of giving Tris a few pointers on looking after his car
(he has taken step by step pics which no doubt will appear shortly)
he turned up with it fairly clean but a 15 mile run down the motorway lead to it picking up a bit of muck......
First off it was foamed with Bilt Hamber Auto Foam Yes i know its bilt hamber and it wont be the last you hear about it Tony
left it to dwell for 10 mins or so....
whilst i filled 2 bucket's one a mix of B,H auto wash and another with water (nice and warm as it was cold)
so we gave the car a good clean with washmits (tris did the top half and i did the lower) gave it a good rinse with a free running hose to sheet the water off there was no real evidence of any wax on the car
gave it a quick dry with last touch to show how it dispersed water and get any bits we has missed :bang:
then onto claying there was a little fallout and honey dew on the roof and bonnet but apart from that not much at all (there was some adhesive residue left from the tape door seals from the factory which was cleaned with autoglym tar remover
Clayed the whole car with BH Soft Auto clay and water...
then dried the car again and got a decent torch out........
Very little marring on the paint so opted not to polish and go straight to wax Gave Tris the option of a few wax's and he plumped for Collinite 915
so set to work with that I put it on and Tris took it off after about 5 mins cure time,
gave the engine bay a quick wipe over with Vinyl and rubber care and the Tires a coat of AG tire shine
Sealed the side and rear windows with Autoglym lifeshine glass Guard and managed to persuade Tris to go to the local lidl and he got the windscreen sealant kit (for the windscreen) and a set of the Blue H4 headlamp bulbs,
and this is what we was left with
