I was just doing a routine check of oil and coolant, pressures and what not when I noticed there was oil surrounding he turbo and one of the lower hoses. Does anybody know what may have caused this and how to fix it? Thanks! Please see the image below. It seems to be quite recently this has happened.

Just had a proper look at mine, it is as oily as yours.

There is some evidence that the oil is being forced out of the turbo - turbo hose join on my car; is it the same on yours?

Guess there is never a quiet moment with fiat ownership.

Update. The hose pictured was slightly loose and I have since tightened this up. My knowledge of turbos is very limited so not sure what the hose is for, whether it is air intake or to do with oil. I've cleaned it up and keeping an eye on it over the next few drives. Will post pictures later on when I can. It did seem as if the initial leak was from the turbo though and not from the loose pipe.

Also the oil filter is below the turbo, and haven't done a recent oil change.

Don't worry that's a tiny amount of oil.
Well done tightening hose, which I think may be from air filter to turbo.
If that's the case the oil is simply from crankcase fumes which are routed through to inlet air to be burned in engine rather than pollute atmosphere.

A small amount of oil is normal in the turbo... It's from the crankcase(most of it gets put back into the engine but a small bit does accumulate on the inside of the turbo, hoses, intercooler, intake..etc.
The oil can escape from between the aluminum compressor housing and the CHRA, or between the compressor housing and the hose that goes to the intercooler.
BUT in the picture you posted, the oil seems to be close to the oil drain from the turbo... i suggest a closer inspection, a good cleaning and keep a close eye on it to see if the leak is from the oil drain.
If necessary replace the seal from the turbo drain.. it's held in place with two torx head screws... either t30 ot t35 or t40... I don't remember. ( the seal looks like this)... if necessary get one from Fiat.

BTW the oil drain is the silver flex pipe on the bottom side of the turbo... looks somewhat like this

That is a very small leak BUT DO keep an eye on the OIL LEVEL!!! it's the most important of basic car ownership maintenance items to check.

Thanks for the replies on this. I've driven around 100 miles since that photo has been taken and there seems to be little oil escaping. But there clearly is a small leak occurring perhaps because of an oil drain pipe blockage? I will keep an eye on the oil drain pipe. It looks as if the oil is originating from or very near this pipe seal. You can see in the photos it's hardly leaking at the moment but perhaps this is the beginning of a seal failure.
