P0237 Turbo/Super Charger Boost Sensor "A" Circuit Low

Needing help on this please.

This is starting to be a nightmare so here goes, My Bravo sport 150bhp multijet,is going into limp mode in fourth gear at 3700rpm with the above code,
the fault code was there before all this work was carried out, the garage cleaned the egr,new map sensor fitted ,maf cleaned, and i also had the turbo pulled out & reconditioned due to over-boost bending the shaft. All hoses have been checked for splits as well. The turbo boost control solenoid has also been checked off the car with a 12v supply and air supply attached and all seems to be opening and closing fine.Garage thinks the reconditioned turbo could be at fault but i'm not so sure as the fault code was there before all this work was carried out.

One thing i need to add we tested the boost solenoid on the car as well with the wire's connected and disconnected but there was no change in the way the car drove i was thinking that there would be some sort of change in the way the car drove when it was disconnected?!

Any help would be great
thanks brian

I know it may sound silly to you, but when was the last time you changed engine oil and filter? Mine had the same error code when I bought it, and the problem was that the previous owner never changed engine oil, so it damaged the turbo plates in the turbo as it was not spinning and I had to replace turbo with some other parts. The main problem was turbo not spinning correctly due to engine oil. Electronics was just reporting what was wrong. The Fiat mechanic checked all the pipes and it all came down to a simple thing.I checked FIAT elearn if this could be it, and it is possible.I hope it helps. And keep us posted.

with vnt valve disconnected the turbo vanes should have been max open position and the car should have been very slow in low revs with no boost.
if you can get under the car to the turbo with the engine idling it should be 75% or full spool max boost position
if you then can pull off the silicone hose going to the actuator on the turbo it will lose vac and open out to full open min boost position, reconnect pipe and see it pulls back in again.
if it does not move in/out smoothly possible stuck vanes
you can also check it with someone else starting and stopping engine while you watch the actuator arm.

New oil and filter when the turbo was reinstalled.
Turbo has been reconditioned and only done 150miles so I would hope that the turbo vanes are not sticking, but still confused at the moment

How is the car actually running?

Are you able to see what the boost is doing - either with a manual or electronic gauge?

Car feels like it driving fine thru 1st,2nd and third gears, its only when its in four gear, with longer boost time that the issue happens, not got live data at the moment but looking to do that shortly.

No never found a solution on this issue.Took the car to fiat and a fiat specialist but no one could figure out what the fault was. I ended up really pissed off with the issue and sold the car. I hope u have better luck than me as I spent over a 1000 and still never fixed it. Still thing my new turbo was faulty but every said it was ok, I'll never buy an other diesel car again, I'm sticking to petrol car from now on a lot easier to diagnose and fix
Thanks LeighPing thanked for this post

Ouch! I have the same problem. Mine is a punto 1.3 multijet 90hp. On burst accelerations around 120kph, ~2900rpm the car goes to limp mode, if i release the accelerator less than one sec and press it again i can keep the turbo pressure under the limits and go higher speeds.
