Was travelling round a roundabout this morning when a woman that was hugging the centre decided to cut across all three lanes to make an exit... This is what happened:

... Witnesses failed to stop. I've taken her details and also asked the bodyshop to give me an estimate. £360 + VAT. Now just waiting for a phonecall from her husband...

:(. This is just adding to my theory that an IQ, common sense and awareness test need to be added before any old monkey who can drive in a straight line, reverse round a bend and turn round in a stupidly wide road in 3 turns gets handed a driving license.

Quote from girl in work yesterday,

"I recently got a new car and it's blind-spots are much worse than my last car...so I tend to just pull out and hope now"

But back to the car. Hope she is forced to pay every.single.penny. At least it's not hugely noticable, so you could drive round with it for a while until it's all sorted out money wise.

Ouch lets hope she admits liability, I had a similar thing happen to me a few weeks ago was totally the womans fault and she admitted it went to put in the claim and she had already put in a claim against me lol. Managed to finally settle out of insurance but a total headache and my insurance company was more or less useless and wanted to write it down as a 50/50 without looking at the details or talking to all the witnesses. I learnt my lesson though even for a minor ding call the police and get witnesses to stop otherwise the insurance company won't do much to help you :(

Cheers guys :) And I would have tried to stop witnesses but it was a major roundabout I ended up parked on. Anyone that saw it was rushing to work up the A road :(

Ah well, with the damage to the back of mine and front of hers it should come out as her fault.
It's frustrating knowing that if I was in 2nd and not in 3rd I would of cleared it. Ah well... Hindsight is a pain... Lol

I know there are blind spots... But missing a polished up Blue car just in front of you to the left?... Really? I booted it, but as I said, 20mph in third... Had to wait for the turbo to kick in and then it was too late :'(

Ouch! I feel your pain! women drivers eh lol.

Until it gets fixed, just admire your new front grill.

Stuff like this draws me, some people are so careless its untrue. Hope you get her looking brand new again soon!

:O lucky it was just the rear arch she caught there from the pics looks like it could have been similar to mine, nice to know it wont cost too much to fix

seems bravos are slightly unlucky....welcome to the limited edition club...will send your membership pack out in the next few days :D

Lol *High five!*

Will there be details of the super secret Handshake in this pack?

I hope its the rear arch as from pic be odd if you fill up from the front...
a few bravos are unlucky I see scooters been touched a few times with crazy women drives.... a polished blue car try a White polished car and people cut you up on roundabouts I think people dont look anymore...

Hope that it gets sorted and she pays up every penny...

Wait... she hit the *back* of your car. What the [insert chosen expletive] was she doing with her eyes?!?

Anyway, I really feel for you. Had a '98 Brava a while back, it had it's front left wing caved in when some guy decided to reverse in a car park without looking behind him, and it was written off when a woman in a Clio decided to not look for oncoming traffic (i.e. me). It's no wonder there are so many crashes when so many people don't look where they're going.(n)

My X Reg Fiesta was written off by a Mercedes in the rain. He pulled out on me when I was doing 25mph... Then paused and I couldn't stop in time. Ge said to me "You were going some weren't yah?"... I got the 'ump and said, "No I wasn't! And if you thought that, why the @&£" did you pull out on me?!"... He claimed liability... Then said his number plates were stolen ages ago and dug the filed report out, and the claim fell through... Back then I was Third Party... Bad times... If only I'd taken a photo of the driver...

That's when my love affair with the Bravo started. Had a Silver Bravo 120T Mjet Dynamic as a courtesy car... Loved it! Lol. Although that got the bumper destroyed by a sign company Transit when it was parked up =\ Argh!

Before that I was physically pushed off the road by a Range Rover. Not alot of damage. But being pushed into oncoming traffic isn't much fun. Grabbed his numberplate. Police took 6 months to decide there was nothing they could do about it. Got a letter a few weeks back saying that the main driver was prosecuted for not providing information of who was driving that day... Don't have much luck lol

Just recieved a text message stating she wants to go through insurance... 5 Minutes before my insurance company closes... Ah well i'll do it tomorrow.

Until then, i've began to write a statement. Tell me what you guys think so far?:

Statement:

The other party and I were waiting to enter the roundabout from A1400 Southend road, leading from Woodford Avenue. I was in the central lane, with the other party to my right, in the outside lane. My intention was to take the third exit onto Chigwell road, towards my house. We entered the roundabout at the same time and continued to travel round the roundabout at equal speed (Approx. 15 – 20mph). I indicated right, to inform other motorists of my intended direction. As we approached the A1400 exit, leading to the A406, the other party slowed, and their bumper was in line with my front offside door. By then we were beginning to pass the said exit. The other party indicated left, and proceeded towards the exit. After seeing this in my wing mirror I attempted to accelerate and ran over an old lady, 3 dogs and 5 sheep… and a squirrel. The sheep didn’t make it :( This has caused serious mental and physical issues. I'm traumatized and covered in wool... and a hairnet.

Your statement is missing a point.

The squirrel is suing you for being terrorised, he's worn away his claws trying to get grip to run ! :D

Hope you get a decent repair, and glad you are ok.

Just spoke to Admiral. The chap was very helpful, but did explain this was probably going to be a 50/50 as there are no witnesses, and it's her word against mine... And with a £500 excess I'm better off getting it repaired myself lol

I would try and fight it, if the damage is done to your rear and her front I would imagine you are slightly in favor. I would be persistent in telling them it was their fault. It can be a long process though which is why in the end I didn't go through with mine as I was going to part exchange the car anyway. They always say that if you hit someone from behind you will more then likely get the fault no matter if the person in front was reversing into you as they can't prove that without independent witnesses. So try and stick with it for another week or so to see if the woman breaks and admits liability :) Of course there is no point claiming if it will come out as 50/50 however the lady might also put in a claim against you and you would lose no claims and whatnot if it came out 50/50 on her insurance :(

I'm adamant it was her fault. 100% positive. Problem is, it was on a roundabout. There's nothing saying that I didn't cut her up. I'm so fed up with insurance. It's a lottery as apposed to justice! I'll keep fighting it, don't you worry ^_^ Thanks for the support :)

Yea I felt exactly the same as if insurance is a complete waste of time. My current insurance is £1400 a year with 3 years no claims, without the no claims it would go up to over £2000 and I was trying to explain to them that the damage was only £200 and if there was any doubt in my mind that the accident was my fault I wouldn't be so stupid to pay my £150 excess lose my no claims and bother with all the crap the insurance company makes you run around doing... had to send in fax copies of driving license, road tax, MOT, take a photo of millage etc... absolutely crazy. I also mentioned I paid the extra for legal assistance and 1 of the people in my car was a solicitor (although not an independant witness they can swear an affidavit which would stand up in court as they are putting their job on the line etc) in end though I gave up wasn't worth the hassle, but if I did persist I am pretty sure I would have won.

Also if it was on a round about to find out if there was any CCTV cameras around, a lot of roundabouts have them these days because a lot of people are running into backs of people or slamming on the breaks to claim from insurance companies

It is ridiculous ... Mine's £1700 Fully Comp with 2 years no claims. It'll go through the roof now.

I'll definitely look for cameras. Could make all the difference :)

Oh well eh? These things happen... Was trying to explain to my Girlfriend that what's done is done, and it's out of our hands...
