Hi all,

The piece of plastic with the Fiat logo on the boot badge has fallen off, not the entire fitting, just the clear plastic part. The Fiat accessories website appears to not have any replacements available.

I would have just superglued it back on, but the red background for the lettering appears to have got damaged (only found out about it tonight, not going out to check it tonight!), so it might look like a pretty shoddy job if I attempted it when I inspect it tomorrow.

I found one on ebay advertised as being for the Grande Punto and Panda, is it the same size badge for all models? How easy/difficult is it to replace the entire badge?

Thanks

Thanks. But just to clarify, that states "for electric lock release only". Does that mean that replacement badge wouldn't function as a release mechanism for the boot?

Ha, this is weird.

Exactly the same thing happened to me yesterday.
I went to close the boot and the clear plastic part of the badge fell off.
I was going to glue it back on but the burgundy background colour had all perished and was flaking off, which would have made the repair look awful.

I phoned my local Fiat dealership and they quoted me about £37 inc vat for the part.
I also asked how easy it was to fit and from his diagrams explained that it is only held on by one bolt once you have removed the plastic coverings inside the boot lid.
The bolt goes through the electrical mechanism to hold the badge in place.

What frustrates me :bang: is that last summer i took my car to the dealers with ref to the front and rear badges fading. They took some pictures and never got back to me and now im out of my waranty.

I will order the part next week and have a go at fitting it, will let you know how i get on.

Ive heard the front badge is a lot harder to fit as it involves removing the front bumper. :(

Both badges can be fitted in half an hour.

Front badge, put fingers in grille, pull really hard, it pops out, with a 10mm socket remove nut, badge comes off, replace, tighten 10mm nut, replace grille.

Rear badge, undo two 5mm hex bolts, pull off inner sound proof cover (plastic trim) using an 8mm socket undo the two nuts on the inside of boot, unplug electric lock cable, badge comes off, replace, tighten two 8mm nuts, reconnect electric lock cable, replace plastic trim, replace and tighten two hex bolts, job done.

Stand back and admire.

Yep, I can confirm this job is easy. One of the first things I did to my car.

Thanks, will do the front one as well if it's that easy.
Hopefully lasts longer than 3 years this time!

this is a known problem to fiat and can be done under warranty for free (i got mine done no problem) they change the full badge including the chrome, so its a new switch you get.

When you say one of the first things you did to your car, do you mean removing the rear badge or replacing it?

If removing it, did you fill and spray it? How much did it cost?

If replacing it - why did you do this when you first got the car?

Thanks!

I replaced it.

When I say it was one of the first things I did to my car that was because I had bought the car second-hand! It was just over 3 years old when the plastic cover fell off.

My car is2009 an i've just bought it. When polishing it last weekend I noticed the rear badge looked like water had started to get in and delaminate it. I called into my local garage andthey're going to replace it under warranty, next week. The bloke that looked at it said it was the first Bravo he'd seen it happen too, the implecation being that he'd seen it before, just not on a Bravo

My rear badge fell off too in the same way. Mine happened just inside of warranty thankfully.
It does appear this is quite commom.

I believe moisture gets into the badge when the badge button is pressed to open the boot instead of they key. If I remember now, especially if it is raining I use the key. It shouldnt be like this I know but make the effort and hopefully our boot badges will last a lot longer. Mine only "pinking" very slightly after 3 years and 43k miles but only the last 10k done by me.

Shop4Parts have 2 listed. This one which states electric release only and another which says manual release. I'm assuming the manual release is the push button type and this will still work from the remote too whereas the electric lock release only will work from the remote?

Can anyone confirm?

Hi all, just wondering if removed the front part of the badge (the bit that people say has fallen off), remove the faded fiat logo and sprayed it the same colour as my car, then glued it back, would it look ok ? . Any feedback or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Clear plastic on Bravo front badge fallen off. I glued before month ago with moment super glue, but now his gone somwhere on the street. I think is no chance to get just a clear/transparent plastic part? Its same for rear and front badge.

Unfortunately you can only buy them as a whole badge.
