Hi guys,

I'm very interested in getting the Connect Nav+ system for my (UK) Bravo.
An example of such is in this video:

I have seen that this unit is retro-fittable in the Stilo and have read that this unit is compatible with UK cars but that's as far as I've got.

Does anybody know how I can get hold of one of these and what is needed for fitting it in my car? I'm not interested in a normal sat nav device (my phone does that anyway) or a double DIN stereo that's not quite compatible with the car. This is from Fiat themselves and that's why I want it!

Any help or pointers would be appreciated, thank you!

Jon

Double DIN stereos are actually quite compatible if you use the genuine dashboard panels. I would recommend doing some research before spending twice the money for something which is twice as outdated in terms of resolution, functionality and everything...

Do you have an idea of the sort of cost involved in getting one of these Connect Nav units?

There was one on Italian ebay for a while ago I think it was around the £300 mark, not sure what extra cables you would need to get it to work.

At least need:
-bracket to install the HU.
-GPS-GSM antenna

To use all function, need:

- microphone
- steering wheel buttons with related wiring.

And we haven't spoken, yet, about ODO flashing, due to new item connected to the CanBus.

My opinion is also, that a lot of better 2din navi are existing.
ConnectNav has only 1 advantage: The design.

The odometer flashing can be solved with a time delay circuit - no worries there. I already have the Blue&Me system in my car - does this require extra wiring and microphone?

I do have my eye on the Pioneer F910BT double DIN navigator but it's a lot more expensive than this :-(

I know, it works in stilo, just I've heard, in bravo doesn't. Just heard, I haven't seen. Anyway, sy should try it.

I think, no, You don't need. Edit: I mean, You can use B&M to make an phone call, don't need this function in ConnectNav.

Me too. Just 920BT. I'm tinking to order from US. Much cheaper (with taxes), just I have no idea yet, how to change map software.

Hi,

At the end I've installed Connect Nav+ to my bravo.
I have a flashing odometer. I can start the engine without flashing odo, but it's not the normal procedure.
My question is that, has anybody already done a proxy alignment by FES on bravo?
It can solve the problem, just I'm afraid a little bit.

Awesome!

How did the install go? What did you need to fit? Where did you put the GPS antenna?

Can you do a full review of how it went?
I notice you have a LHD car so what language is the unit in? Can it be put in English?

if you have b&m do you still need another mic, I assumed the car had one built in for use with voice commands

I've just installed the HU, yet. I bought a GPS antenna on ebay, but unfortunately, I've received a wrong parcel. Now I'm waiting for the good one.
What You need to complete:
-Headunit
-Bracket to install the HU
-GPS/GSM antenna with extension cable
-Microfone (To use phone function and Voice Recognization)
-Map CD
-Steering wheel buttons

I use english language.
The installation is the same like in stilo. At stilo guides you can find the description.

How have you got a phone signal? Do you need a GSM signal to run the HU?

Thank you for providing info!

I have finished the Connect Nav+ installation. All functions (Voice recognition, phone, navigator......) work properly.;)

Hi Stilos,

could you confirm that the plugs for the normal portougese radio is already working with the CONNECT NAV ? (no need for doing extra wires?).

Is there a special socket for the GPS antenna or it use the normal ARIEL antenna for signal ?

How did you get it in, I know to pull out the original radio you need the radio keys, but what about on the navi, is it same keys ? and what about the bracket ?

Also, how do you update the maps, does it go in the memory SD of CONNECT NAV ?

Hope you will help.

Best,

Peter

I can confirm. The Connect Nav+ has the same connector.
1ea extra wire required. ( Ignition switched 12VDC).

The GPS/GSM antenna has 3 connector.
- GPS (Grey GT5)
- GSM (Green GT5)
- Normal radio (Same than the normal radio)

The removal tool is different. Simple wire, diameter about 2mm (On the navi front panel, You can see the holes)-
The bracket must be replaced.

Also, how do you update the maps, does it go in the memory SD of CONNECT NAV ?

The map is on CD ( Instant Nav has SD).
You can download from the net.

Hope you will help.

I will.;)
