Hi does anyone have any technical knowhow how to change these. The owners manual says refer to a Fiat dealer. Is it a real pain...... of a job??

I believe you should have the option to turn the darn things off in your menu. if you dont have that then i also believe that you can update your instrument cluster to get said option.

I presume you mean change a failed bulb, not the behaviour.

The reason for "Go to the dealer" is that if you put the car on a ramp, its easier to see what you are doing.

Actually changing a foglamp bulb is just the same as a headlamp bulb, though you have to do it by feel.

Have you actually got a failed bulb? Or has someone told you "One of your foglamps is out"?

I believe he means the cornering 'behaviour', not the bulb, i.e; the lights come on when you switch on an indicator or turn the steering wheel when the headlights are switched on.
I might be wrong.

This is a software thing, so a visit to a dealer is what's required to stop this happening, I'm sure.

Hi,
I bellieve I should have been a bit more specific.... How do you change the fog lamp bulbs, without attending ad getting charged a load of dosh from a stealer?? Is it easy or grief?
I changed my dipped head lamp bulbs, main beam to some Osram Night Breakers (H1) and I can now see in the dark.(y) OE headlamps were dire in my opinion.(n) would now like matching Night Breakers (H11) for fog / cornering lamps.
PS I believe you can turn the cornering function off or on depending on your preference in the Multifunction menu, somewhere in one of the subsections that is. I did find it, but can't seem to locate at the momentr. Hope this helps those who don't like 'em. Aaargh. :bang:

But isn't there a button on the console for the fog lights? What does it do exactly?

The button on dash sSwitches Fog Lamps on or off.
If you have it activated the corneing lamps work when cornering or indicating below 30 km/h i.e. one or other Fog lamp comes on without the fog lamp button being activated!
This can be turned on or off in the Multifunction Display (bit of a maze but will find the function to switch on or off, the cornering lamp function again soon.) Iquit like them in Winter, but can't see thge point in Summer for my personal preference.:)

According to the latest Owners Manual (Oct 2009) Page 35 tells you how to turn on or off! Off to do it now.

I love them they work well when needed considering I thought they were just a bit of a gimmick at first but they do have their uses.

Plus its great explaining people that they are cornering lights and I don't just drive around with one fog light on all the time.

:D

Can you tell us? I've got a 2007 manual and it doesn't seem to cover it...

But you've got the 2007 car ( like me) that doesn't have the feature.

Yes, Funny Fiat :D

Manual says:

Cornerning light
(activation/deactivation of
“Cornering lights”)
(for versions/markets,
where provided)
This function makes it possible to activate/
deactivate the “Cornering lights” (see
the description in the “Exterior lights”
paragraph).
Proceed as follows to activate/deactivate
the lights (ON/OFF):
– press the MODE button briefly, the display
will show On or Off flashing depending
on the previous setting;
– press the Õ or Ô button to make the
selection;
– press the MODE button briefly to return
to the menu screen or press the button
for longer to return to the standard
screen without memorizing.
