Hi all

Thinking of having rear parking sensors fitted to my 150 JTD (aftermarket ones recommended by Bostons fiat main dealer) wondered if any members have experience with these parking aids
Price fitted with colour coding for a 4 sensor system £180 all in. does that sound a fair price?

Regards Kelvin w

Happy new Year To You All.

Are they Meta? Local fiat dealer were selling them at special price of 98. These come in black, you've then got to have them colour coded (£30-40), then remove your bumber to drill the holes, connect the wiring in, calibrate the sensors, tidy everything up and put it all back together.
180 sounds like a good price and, had my local dealer charged that all in then I wouldn't have hesitated, but they wanted 300 to fit them.

Hi, we have fitted these and they work ok but due to the curve of the bumper it does detect alot of the side obstacles, whatever adjustments we make they are still sensitive so if you park alongside a wall or another obstacle you will pick this up as an obstacle.

we fit them last week. 3 sensors for 250eur. 2 sensors are on each corner of the bumper. 3rd, the biggest, is near reg.plate. the mechanic said the system has troubles in detecting thin objects, not small. it has no on/ off button and it alarms you with the sound.
the main reason for fitting them was rear windows are too small and high.

This is more expensive than the original sensors (and the original has 4, not 3 sensors)?

Did they explain you how the wiring is done? I may consider adding these in the future (although not very likely as I am not a blonde girl :D) and I am a bit concerned about the fact they will need to put wires all over my car...Maybe if they can put the sensors and hide the "beeping module" (or whatever it is called) in the trunk...

he didn't say about the wiring but i bet wires are already ready. thay probably needed to turn on the system via computer too.

no he said "I Bet" which means he has no idea - he is guessing

You can get these for £20 off ebay - just get live feed off reverse light.

But I presume this will invalidate warranty so you'll have to pay fiat about £200 for exactly ther same thing

Meta four sensor system fiat sell in the uk have 4 connectors for each sensor that plug into the control unit, a speaker which is placed behind the rear quarter panel, an earth wire and a feed off the reverse lamp. Thats it, no wiring is present but its not very hard to wire in neatly.

Hi Guys

Sorry I may have misled you the Main dealer Bostons employs this company to fit reverse sensors and so they endorse the product. I’m still concerned about the warranty implications to be truthful.
