Not sure on that - however remember that your car must legally have a headlight washer system to have HiD headlights, you'll fail your MOT otherwise.

why is everyting always so complaicated

Que?

It is plain and simple. One of the easiest mods around. The kits come with a short manual on how to do it. Also, if you need pics, styling section comes handy with kayl0rz report.

Shop for an H1 kit. No difference what brand it is - they all come from the same chinese factory.

AND - you have to have polyeliptical headlights for this mod - otherwise someone may eventually smash them for being blinded.

DON'T buy Chinese Kits, if anything buy Taiwanese. Brands do matter, but some people don't really care. Try www.hids4u.co.uk for good quality kits with a genuine 2yr warranty or ebay for cheap kits. You get what you pay for.

Also a HID fitting guide for the Fiat bravo can be found at http://www.insworld.co.uk/index.php?page=bravohidinstall

thank you for the information. what is the 6000k 8000k 10000k and 12000k all about. which one is the best to go for. i was looking at the H1 10000k and there are some reasonable kits out there.

one other point is will i need a secial kit for full beam lights as well because i am not sure if i have a main bulb and a normal beam bulb or are they the same bulb. will i need a special kit

Ok where to start. 4300K, 5000K, 6000K etc is the lumen output. The higher the lumens, the more blue the light. The more blue the light is the darker the actual light output is. On Audi, Porsche and Merecedes fitted with HIDs, they have as standard 4300K HIDs which are the brightest and have no blue light at all in them. Yellow/White light. The blue you see in them is not caused by the bulb but with the way the lense refracts the light (the light spectrum).

The best kit to go for is 4300K ideally, but if you want a bright light with a hint of blue the 5000K are an excellent choice. The highest lumen you can goto before your lights start looking completely blue / purple is 6000K. Anything above 6000K would be illegal due to the colour of the light. 10000K as you mentioned would be definately blue or even purple light. Definately illegal and you will loose alot of light output, basically waste of money.

In a Fiat Bravo/Marea Headlight the dipped beam and main beam are both H1. I suggest you fit them to dipped beam only. Turning the main beam on and off reduces the life of the bulb dramatically and dont forget HIDs take a second or two to get to full brightness once switched on. There is however a new HID bulb specially made for Main beam but obviously costs more. I wouldn't suggest fitted a HID to main beam. Just use a good brand halogen bulb. No special kit is required.

Hope this answers your question.

The 6000k and all the of them shows how many kelvin degree works the bulb. As much you increase the bulb gives you a blue light and goes to purple. The common is cold white with 6000k. If you want more blue light you will go near to 8000k. See below. About Bravo Brava they have H1 type bulbs.

just to confirm the best would be H1 6000k (legal).

i would need two seprate bulbs (Kits) for main and full beam or is there kits which come with both anyway.

Wrong 4300K is the best as its the brightest, 5000K if you want a hint of blue.

Anybody know if its legal to fit hid kits into a punto mk2?, Ive heard because they dont have headlight washers and non-clear lenses it would be illegal :S. Anyone shed any light  on the subject?

;) Owen.
