get a multimeter.

disconnect the injector wiring harness at the right hand side of the fuel rail (right hand side when looking in engine bay)
on the connector there are 5 pins, use centre pin for earth and other 4 are each for an injector. check resistance of all 4, should all be very simmilar and all 14-15ohms approx. if any are much less you have a problem.

thanx for the info :)

that will be fine if you 200 setting displays at least 1 decimal place, if not go down to the setting closest to and above 16ohms (i guess 20 on your meter)

Wasn't/Isn't there an issue with spark plugs on the Bravo 16v engines? In that they must be the exact ones specified.

I know my (previous) Bravo HGT developed a missfire after being serviced once, the cause was due to a problem with one of the spark plugs. My Dad's spare Punto 1.2 ELX ran with a very occasional missfire for a year (!), he got it serviced, with new sparkplugs and the problem was solved.

And when I serviced my Bravo 1.2 80sx recently, I noticed how difficult it was to find the exact spark plugs for that engine, particularly having been advised that to ensure smooth running to stick with the correct model & brand.

I'm just speculating really, but the recent Fiats I've had, or family have had, have seen this type of miss-firing repaired by checking and replacing the plugs.

:)

bosch plugs can cause problems on many cars, but this problem was there before and after with no differnce so that pretty much rules out the plugs.

i bet those bosch plugs came from halfords? a proper motorfactor wont usually stock them, and if they do they will tell you to buy NGK if you ask for bosch. there's a god reason for that, they cant be bothered with all the people who come back complaining that bosch plugs made their engine run rough. even champion are preferable to bosch.

if all injectors test ok its time to cheange the HT leads.

Ah. I didn't read that properly - not seeing that the issue was there before.

I also didn't realise that Bosch plugs were a problem themselves, but was just aware that the Fiat engines, (particularly the 16v 1.2, on the 80sx and Punto ELX's) were quite notoriously fussy with the type of spark plug used.

:yeahthat: As jug states, I'd assume it's the leads, if the plugs have been discounted.

:)
