Hi ppl, i made a stupid mistake last night, but to cut a long story short i accidentally drove my car into a curb + now the front wheeel has buckled. i got 17inch fiat abarth alloys im just wondering if there is any way i can get it fixed? it looks a pritty bad buckle. or will i have to buy a new alloys.

Nothing wrong with the tyre itselft just the rim. went into the curb at about 30mph. it doesnt seem like there is anything alse wrong with the car. what would you lot sugest i do????/

please please help!!!!!

Sorry to tell you the wheel is scrap, ouch! Easily done in the dark at night and is one reason for sticking with plain old steel wheels on a car you use everyday. They don't look as nice though!

well it bcoz i had to pick the missus up i went in the car so i could blame her.

But have u heard of any 1 that has had a buckle in the alloy and that a dealer or mechanic can get the buckle out or do u just have to buy a new alloy?

that was my question.

coz i dont kno any1 that has had a buckle in the wheel + that there able to repair it.

aii done it at night, so there is no way a dealer or anyone can fix the alloy?

il defo need a new rim then?

i hit it bout 30-35mph as i saw it i was ontop of it swerved and just hit it on the edge nasty thud!!!

I'm probably well off the mark, but i would of thought a badly buckled alloy would be quite difficult for anyone to repair.

Start searching for a new one matey.

Your on here?? Thought you'd of been searching Ebay by now trying to find a nice cheap new alloy!!

Which type of alloy is it that you need, the claw or the 5 spoke ones??

i got the claw ones.

just been on ebay mate cant find any new abarth (claw) 17" rims.

might just buy a new set of 4 from ebay now fairly cheap ine.?

do u know if a fiat dealer would sell me just the 1 alloy or do the ba****** only sell in sets?

and if they would sell me the 1 alloy around how much would it set me back?

dear or not so dear?

how much would a single alloy cost from a fiat dealer then? or would they have to sell me the set?

any1 had to buy a single alloy from their fiat dealer? I have checked on ebay and cant find nought!

any ideas on how much fiat would set me back on a new alloy?

You will need to get the tracking checked and have a good look at all steering parts you may have bent something 30 mph is a hard hit into a kerb.I dont think you will be able to repair the wheel can't tell without seeing it I'm supprised that you have no damage to the tyre again have a very good look at it it may have damage on the inside good luck with the repairs.

A little late, but my old man buckled the inside of his 19" Audi rim in a pothole just before Christmas, he used a soft block of wood and a hammer to push it back into shape, because of good luck and the design of the wheel the damage wasn't structural & he needed nothing else done- so it can be done! (y) A picture would have been useful in assessing the damage, but still, it is 3 weeks later now so it doesn't really matter now.
