Got some abarth skirts, gonna have a go at painting them myself., whats the worst the can happen, right? :slayer:

But, I can't find a flexible fibreglass primer, does anyone have any recomendations? I know that you need special primer for fibreglass due to it being porous, and the wrong primer will end up cracking/flaking the paint, so anyone got any ideas?

Searched on google for a while and ebay, but all I can find is wood/metal/plastic primer.

Cheers all
Matt

the skirts should be gel coated thats the whit or grey coating ontop of the fibreglass. what you want is a plastic primer which is basically normal primer with a promoter to help it stick to the plastic.

Any car primer will go over fibreglass, they dont flex that much you need a flex primer, theres no special primer for fibreglass, 2k is the best as will go on thicker (highbuild) and any imperfections should be filled beforehand with stopper ( filler bog! ) go to your local bodyshop suppliers for your paint and you can get while you wait off the paint scheme filled aerosols which are a larger can with an adjustable fan cap, and they work well and a better colour match Ant!
