OK, probably been brought up before but was wondering what the advice was for Oil in the Barchetta engine.... the crummy little handbook/service book all in one thingy I got with the car recommends Selenia 20K a 10W-40 Oil...

any recommendations? Just that I've noticed I need oil NOW! as I've been driving the car quite hard and didn't know if anyone knew if an alternative brand that I can get in the shops today would be OK?

Ta!

any quality brand will suffice.magnatec's a good choice.

Thank you!!!

:D :D :D

I figured it would be fine to put any other decent 10W-40 in cheers mate!!

I've had my B for just short of 7 years now, and have always used the Selenia 20K, following a variator fail at 14,000. The previous owner of just 10,000 Kms had put Shell oil in it, not saying this caused the fail but the car is still going strong on variator two, touch wood! its done just short of 130,000 kms now.

in my old 98 i used to use magnatec, but the (original) variator was on its way out at 72k when i sold it.

never seen the Selenia oil advertised anywhere... where do you get it... is it easy to get hold of?

always thought magnatec was the best oil to use but would consider using the stuff that fiat recommends if its readily available.

This exactly is the reason why I use in all Alfas and Fiats exclusively Selenia.
