Hello,

I have just renewed the carbon flushing filter, the vapour trap and the petrol tank seals and valves as well as the flushing filter solenoid on my 1997 Barchetta.

This has solved the fuel smell problem.

However I get a ticking noise which appears to come from the area around the new solenoid ( which is under the passenger side front wing) but only on acceleration

I also notice that there is a dual relay under the bulkhead.

Any assistance on the ticking noise which has not caused any problems to date ?

Hi, sorry can’t help with ticking noise but how on earth did you manage to remove the valves in the fuel tank? Mine are as tight as can be and one has a chip out of the plastic flange where it sits on the seal.

With regards to the plastic valves I obtained new ones as I too found it impossible to remove the old ones without damaging them
