So that's an expensive B by the time you've found/scavenged/bought all the missing parts and rebuilt it.
He's really done his research, did you see his user name?

Actually it has a fair few expensive modifications added, well at least it did have,
Not sure if there all there now.

Spoke with the company who tuned it back in 2000,

Second ECU remaped to 150bhp
Electronic launch control
Mono toora wheels
Uprated/lowered suspension
Uprated brakes
Carbon covered dash panels
Spoilers front and rear.

I do like the wheels :)

I was looking through an Octane article on the Ferrari F50 and it had a carbon dash with very similar eliptical air vents in it and I thought that would look cool in a Barchetta....

Hi all

This is the winter project that I have just bought  Currently getting its 'new' engine fitted.

It does still have all the mods listed above but not sure if all the electrical bits are working though. Time will tell

I had it up on a ramp and it is a good solid car appart from a small patch on the passenger's sill.

Any input on its history would be appreciated.

Also I didn't pay the asking price (y)

Cheers

Dave

Thanks very much KC3.

If this is the same car it now has an original front bumper without the spoiler and it doesn't have the aluminium floor matts (no great loss there)

Not too sure about the suspension as I haven't compared the ride height to another Barchatta but it is low.

Will keep you all posted under the Land Marque tread I have started.

Thanks again

Dave

Well done that man! I wish you well, re your comments about the 260bhp I would imagine that unless the chassis is VERY well sorted that would be something of a, how shall I put this, handfull. Yes, I think that's the word...(y)
Keep us posted.

Good on you, mate - excellent to hear that it's not going for spares.

Best of luck with it - keep us posted on developments.

Thanks

If I didn't buy it they were going to break it for spares as they would have made more. Or there was talk of interest from Cyprus...

Hopefully get it all finished in plenty of time for the Scottish Italian Car Day in May. Give my Y10 a rest :D

:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Yes that kind of power on a fwd car wouldn't be much fun. Perhaps that was why the traction control was installed

The car came with two engines in bits so the guy that is installing the new engine is going to see if the cams are different in the scrap engines and swap them if they are. However, I like reliability so will be after a level of performance that you can use everyday without the risk of killing the engine or drivetrain.

Cheers

Dave

Good luck with the purchase

I have a complete spare car if you need any bits

Thanks, you never know what is gong to be missing when you take on someone else's project.

My brother also has a Barchetta hence why I located a spare engine so easily, but I don't have a stock pile of parts like I do for my Lancia so it is good to know who has.

Cheers

Dave
