Steve could you do us a huge favour and measure the dimensions of the box? am thinking of fabricating something along the same lines...

No offence to the good work others have done but I wouldn't bother making a box to sit where the oem one does. If you just replace the standard speakers with decent ones and fit one of these slim bass tubes or similar behind one of your seats you will have as much sound as you need for loads less effort & it will be a stealth install;)

I am designing a few options which will soon be on the web site

www.yourbarchetta.co.uk

One behind the seat
One behind both seats (The windstop version)
One in the footwell

I am also creating the one for the windstop with x2 speakers.

Keep an eye on the site as two options will be available. with or with out speakers.

If like me you don't want a sub bass taking up precious space opt for the pioneer as pictured in my boot. It fits so snugly you don't even need to strap it down and it still leaves plenty of space for the occasional shopping trip etc.

I was advised not to go sub in the boot of a barchetta by 2 different installers, they both said the same thing,
too much between you and the sub all that does is make your boot rattle and all pedestrains get the benefit of it .
i dont want too much bass just a nice deep sound , i wouldnt recomend the OEM box personally, its just too small inside to do anything with.
and being a fussy git i dont like the centre grill , so i am having 2 good quality 5x7`s installed each end of the box (with some internal mods) and the whole box dynamatted inside and covered externally , i,ll get some pics as soon as i get it back and have a rethink if the sound is not what i,m looking for .

What Sub is that mate? Do you have a model number? Very curious.... :)

Edit; I'm an idiot. Pioneer TS-WX77A

To mask my stupidity, I'll ask another question - are you happy with the sound?

i found a lot of "under seats" and flat woofers... i think those will be the best solution for barch... they doesn't take too much space but they kick a$$. something like that... can be installed behind seats in the middle of fuel tank cover.

The performance delivered from that Sub won't anywhere near that from a conventional Sub.

Has anyone tried one of these under seat options out?

I am changing my windstop version for two nice speakers and then looking at a sub, I thought about the underseat option. I don't want a boy racer sound, just nice subtle bass notes.

i like that sub stevie shows... i have amp similar look. but if you have OEM speeaker box i think that you cannot put seat full to back (only if you have seats in 90°) because head rest will push that box...

i guess i am the only shortie here i have a small alpine active sub tucked up in the passengers foot well and seat is right back no complaints for any one, and if i really strech i get a good foot massage of the bass when i am passenger.
this is my temperary solution till i find something to fit into my custom made rear speaker box.

Hi, does this give a good enough bass sound? I am not after the old skool hard bass sound as I listen to rock music.

Thanks(y)

yp good bass for meatloaf, pink floyd yello club land extrme serinity and plenty of other stuff

That does it for me.

www.myspace.com/ninonino75 is my personal music.

But I love all kinds as long as it have a good beat.

I used to DJ House and Garage, so sometimes I slip back. But I play guitar so I love the rock stuff.

:yum:
