Panda (Classic) P45T Winter bulbs

Panda (Classic) P45T Winter bulbs

I run same bulb power on my Trekking you will need to upgrade the three pin socket at the back trust me over time the exiting one's will melt. That said they are a good upgrade (y)

I've used Ring Xenon Ultima since they came out for headlights and Osram Night Breaker Plus in fog or spot lights. The Ring bulbs don't last that well, 18 months or so is when they seem to give up but they are excellent and road legal. Good white light and a decent and instant upgrade to any older car.
Bulbs in my GP don't look standard, not sure what they are but are pretty good.

Cheers

Ben

Because they're not road legal ;)

These are the ones I have in the Fantasia...

...world of difference.

...white version (M.O.T fail as they look blue when off)...

...but for serious off road use...

Unfortunately they do very few uprated bulbs (if any) like the ones you've mentioned with the P45T base that the Panda requires :(

Rather then bulb upgrade i'm looking more into whole headlamp system upgraded to projector type one.
Hella does have nice 90mm bi-halogen assy for £160/pair.

And have them retrofitted, option one - by removing the flutes

Or by getting the dome/ lens moulded from optical material

E marked as well

Neat, you'll be needing to get a complete plain glass front for them to work properly however :(

Still not techincally road legal either as need self leveling system and headlamp washers (latter is easy, just use a Sisley setup :D) But it setup properly then these are unlikly to be too much of an issue.

I'll follow this with interest :)

I'll do a small batch of plain lenses for others, i'm thinking of the halogen version so self leveling is not required.
Yes Hella does have exact same size unit but bi-xenon or LED, so upgrade to LED's possible in future ( as for now pair of LED ones would be nearly £600).

clear perspex lenses seems to be much easier to do then modifying the glass. I will leave the glass milling/grinding/polishing task to my CNC toolman.

Oh so is the £160 just for traditional filament / halogen projector units and not the Bi-Xenon HIDs?

I have a set of H4 lamps (2001 Panda from eBay Italy) in my shed and H4 HiD's they were crap on the Fantasia.

You can get P45T to H4 conversion cups. You fit the cups into the lamp assembly and then the bulbs to the cups. I had a pair on my Renault 11 Turbo. Worked well until you did a long journey and the cups melted.

I bought a couple of these bulbs out of interest really, because I'd always thought the headlights were adequate before..
So when they arrived I remembered I'd never got around to fitting relays and the warning above about fried plastic bulb connectors also prompted me to investigate upgrading the wires first.
I started to make a list of the bits and quickly realised I couldn't do it for less than a complete kit, posted from Thailand..

£17 how do they do that? - On second thoughts, I don't want to know.

So I fit the kit, nice and easy, and when I take out the old bulbs find they're rated at 100/80.

So that's why they seemed okay before. And maybe that's why last winter I needed to replace a crispy switch..

Oh well. We're all golden now.

So there's a place in Thailand that makes Headlight upgrade kits for Pandas?

Must be to keep the ladyboys busy between shows

Link please!

To the kit, not the bladyoys!
