Don't know why he hasn't included the mileage as it's only 62000, with old mot's to prove. Shaping up to be a promising little car, reminds me of my old red Fizz.

Well technically my Daughter bought it.

It's all come about as a result of what I touched on in a previous post....

Well, off to Hereford this morning with the Blue CLX, my Daughter is going to take care of it for a few months until I can sort her out something of her own. :(

My plan to keep it's ultra low mileage low has gone off the rails a bit, though to be fair, she won't need to go far.

Anyway, to make sure it survives as well as possible I spent yesterday afternoon changing the oil and filter, putting on some more polish, and generally having another check around. I also swapped wheels with the 750L as I want to change the tyres that were on the CLX for some a bit wider, it only had 145's which were a bit of a stretch for those alloys. While the wheels were off I also clicked up the self adjusters on the brake shoes a tad, they can always be encouraged to go an extra click without binding, and it just improves the feel of the pedal.

I'm bringing back her bicycle to sell, the proceeds will go towards her Panda fund, reckon she'll have about £250 to spend in total. Hmm It's looking like the green CLX I bought just for it's drivers door may have to be pressed into action if it passes inspection, options are few with that budget. Watch this space!

Sorted insurance this morning, then booked it in for an MOT on Monday so that I could drive it home legally today.

So this afternoon we braved the elements to travel to Birmingham to pick up the latest Panda to join the family, that's four now.

I had a good feeling about this one from the start so was keen to see if my instincts were good, and so far it would appear they are. The ad had warned that the exhaust was blowing but I wasn't expecting a 90 mile drive home with no rear silencer . Other than this, it drives well apart from the engine being very flat, the guy did say that the timing belt had been replaced about a year ago so I shall be checking the cam timing first.

It's been a very wet day so I haven't had a chance to check out the bodywork properly but after a quick look round it appears to be rust and dent free :D, result. The interior needs a really good clean, you can barely make out the pattern on the front seats, and the dash and windows have a film of nicotine over them. But under all the grime sits an undamaged interior that should come up well.

I didn't know what to expect from a Mania so was pleasantly surprised to find a 5 speed gearbox, cigarette lighter, and clock, even though the clock is louder than a hampster in it's wheel!! In addition to the standard goodies the previous owner has fitted a cd/tuner, AND a remote alarm with central locking!!!!!! yes central locking!!!!!! I suppose you're all going to tell me that you've got central locking too now.

I hope it's not raining tomorrow so that I can get cracking on it as I have a few things planned, but £250 is the budget for this one at the moment so the list is not too long, let's see how much we've spent once it's got an mot and go from there.

Well, half an hours work and zero expense has all it's power  restored. As I suspected, the timing belt was fitted one tooth out. The previous owner had been using like this for months, go figure.

Now if would just stop raining long enough for me to wash and polish it. :bang:
