A totally unique machine: using 1978 Cherokee parts - 6 litre V8, fully reconditioned, with TH 400 auto trans,Quadratrac 2 speed transfer with centre diff lock, and Dana 44 axles. All mounted in a stainless steel monocoque floor pan with welded in roll cage, and the side panels from a Panda 4x4 for character !
The suspension is coils all round with 3 link front plus Panhard rod; twin arms with A-arm at the rear - all designed to minimise axle tramp and maintain wheel contact.
Brakes entirely brand new, using Hilux 4-pot calipers and discs at the front; Hilux 4 pots and Trooper discs at the rear, with internal drum handbrake. New Tilton master cylinder and s/s braided hoses for brake lines.
Cherokee steering with all new rods and joints; original tilt-adjustable steering column and Cherokee dash, again for character. All guages still work.
Electric waterpump and fuel pump;70 litre alloy fuel tank with 10 litre well for continued supply at steep angles. Many alloy panels and special fibreglas/alloy bonnet made in a mould fabricated from 2 Panda bonnets ! Width, plus 300 mm over Panda, 1900mm overall. Wheelbase 91" Tyres, 245R75x16 - could take 265's. Approach angle: 68 degrees; departure 74 degrees. Centre clearance 410mm.
FINISHED WEIGHT: 1250 KG approx. ( Less than half a current Discovery, with twice the engine) A great deal of work has gone into keeping the weight down to this level, to give the machine a serious edge over other 4x4s when it comes to competition off road. BUT, this is not for racing. It's sprung and built for Trials or Challenge events.
3-4000 hours work and hundreds of special parts to achieve optimum component placement and function. £5000 spent on parts/materials. No. 84 of a lifetime's special building, representing a LOT of experience.
html doc with 44 pics and descriptions available by sending email adress ( approx 3,5Mb)
Price; GB£22,000. After taking out business costs and parts/material costs, this will give me around £3/hour for my labour - an absolute gift to someone.
This is a professionally designed and built machine, not cobbled up by some beginner in his shed. It's not OEM standard, but to get one of their one-offs will cost you fifty times as much. This is a sensible standard for a machine intended for proper off road use.
NOT INTENDED FOR HIGHWAY USE ! It has all the lights, horn, handbrake and mirror, with OEM 3-point seat belts, but I never expect anyone to want to drive about the streets in it. It is most definitely NOT intended for show or posing.

itsn ot alot of money because if hes created it himself it takes alot of time effort and money to put it together.he might even make a loss on it because hes took all that time to do it. if people do whant it and need it they will pay that amount of money.
