Can any tell me if there should be water in both heater pipes on the 850 , i don’t have any heat comming through into the car I have the car up on lift and I opened one of the water pipes and there’s no water coming out, in the other there is , these two pipes are running to the matrix heater under hearth dash should I have water in both pipes ?

Another Irish man?

Both hoses should have water in them, you have one on the bottom of the main rad going forward and then the return comes back into the thermostat housing. Can be difficult to fill with the thermostat in place, there is a bleeding process but it escapes me I'm afraid. I have the thermostat removed from my 850 so it's easy to fill and I still get plenty of heat.

The send and return pipes to the front heater rad are easily clogged with gunk so before proceeding I would strip the pipes at the rear of the car (cover the starter and dynamo as best you can with plastic bags) and try and force water through the system to give it a good flushing.

Irish indeed ? ok I’ll have a look on Saturday
I’ve only had the car few months brought it in from Spain
Not sure if it has a thermostat but I’ll let you know cheers

Hi Guys.

There is a small air bleed on the side of the heater matrix(8 or 10mm spanner)

it may help to bleed the air out through this or it could be that the matrix is actually blocked.
