can anyone steer me in the right direction, just replaced all the suspension on my 64 850 saloon, according to the manuals you read front toe in setting is 11-13 mm now chap was telling me that setting was when the car had the original crossply tyres on, if you run that setting on a radial tyre you will scrub it off, can see his logic but didnt the 850 spider have radials on from new ? and the toe in setting is the same 11-13mm regards dave

Hi Dave,

I have the original owner's manual of my car, it is a '65 if I am correct (my parents bought it).

The manual lists the toe-in as 2mm - 4mm, the 12mm - 13mm is for the camber angle.

I do have the factory service manual too.
It lists the toe-in as 2mm - 4mm loaded, 6mm - 8mm unloaded, measured at the rim.
Camber is the same, as in the owner's manual, loaded.
The camber angles are 2deg 10sec +/-15sec loaded, and 1deg +/-15sec without load.

Also note that the car came with 12" wheels originally.

Regards, Peter

thanks pete, good point my car has 13inch wheels now but the profile on the tyre gets them nearer to the 12 inch look, got the camber set at 1degree positive unloaded, you say 2 degree positive unloaded, certainly a interesting minefield, thanks for your reply pete much appreciated dave
