Hey all,

My wife and I just picked up our 500X launch edition.
Very happy with the car so far, aside from the audio performance.

It was sold with a beats audio upgrade, and the sub is definitely in there and working, but it just doesn't seem loud enough. I was honestly expecting more, as my Volvo V50, which doesn't have a subwoofer, has definitely got more punch, deeper bass and better midrange.
The Fiat just sounds hollow.
I've played with the EQ. Not much changes.
Was I expecting too much?

While I'm here, is the subwoofer meant to be facing down? I thought it would make more sense if it was facing upwards.

Thanks.

So I discovered that it is the digital radio that sucks, not the sub. Whilst the sound system is still a bit ****ty, digital radio here seems so compressed that there is almost no bass. When switching to either normal radio or internet radio via Android Auto, the bass is much punchier. Still sounds hollow though. Not much midbass at all.

Sorry for hijacking, but I too have a couple of questions regarding the subwoofer, and since we're here, maybe someone could clear them up for me.

My vehicle equipment list says I have premium audio system, but it can't be Beats audio, because there are no logos or anything. I can count 8 physical speakers in the car and there are surround sound settings in the menu, bud I don't see (or hear, in this case) any indication of a subwoofer installed in the car. So, is the subwoofer only available with Beats audio, or can it be installed separately, too? Or maybe it's there and I just don't hear it for some reason? How can I make sure? Where should I look for it, exactly?
