Hi

Just thought i'd share something.

I like the seats in my 500x, leatherette or whatever they want to call it around the outsides and meshy stuff in the middle, a combo which I am finding good so far.

After buying the car I wondered if there were any cheap fabric protector options for the middle meshy bits and car mats and came across this article.

http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/accessories-tyres/93312/best-fabric-protectors-for-your-car-2017

I'm not intending to be messy or anything and don't want to blow the bank so went for the scotchguard option. ebayed it and it was £8.50 or something inc p&p.

Tried it on the passenger seat first, sprayed across both ways liberally and then wiped the residue off the leather bits and left to dry. Has a vapoury smell at first so best to leave the door/ window open for ventilation, but on the flipside makes the car smell "new" once it's settled. Also did a floormat as well.

After its properly dried you can't tell it's there, maybe just slightly (touch feel is a bit shinier perhaps) but hardly noticeable and no residue problems. I havent tested it but expect it'll offer some extra protection.

I'll do the rest of the car soon when i get around to it.

I can endorse the Scotchguard. I used it on the bright red cloth seats of my 500 hatch when I bought it new. When I traded it in 6 years later they were still unmarked.

Funnily enough I read the exact same review and applied the Scotchguard yesterday, I've tested it on some shoes and they are totally water resistant for now
