Hi all - not been on here for a while as its been some time since we sold the wifes Sedici. We're looking for a 500X for her now. Just wondered - we've seen a few nice cars around but several without the built in Sat Nav which we really want. I've not seen much of UConnect - is it possible to 'mirror' your phone nav in some way? Any help appreciated.....

I'd suggest you buy a TomTom and save yourself a lot of money.
The smaller sat nav screen is a waste of space anyway. I've got the 6.5" unit and that's just about passable.
If you really want a built in unit I'd take a look at a Kenwood aftermarket unit with Apple/Android compatibility.
It looks like a standard Din size, perhaps the only thing to check up on is how well the car electronics will play with it, but any good audio shop would be able to advise.

Thanks for the info - I just like the look of a built in unit but will have a check on what else in available. Cheers again

Hi Nello. Hope this doesn't mean it's gonna be curtains for the Chry....Lancia Delta? ;)

As far as I know, UConnect (at least in the 500X) doesn't yet support 'MirrorLink' which is where you can mirror your phones' screen on the car touchscreen :(

However, from early 2016, PopStar and Cross spec 500X's were fitted with the DAB & Nav upgrade for the 5" UConnect screen, with Lounge and Cross Plus spec's having the 6.5" screen. Prior to this it was only Lounge & Cross Plus that had sat nav as standard, with PopStar & Cross specs (which make up the majority of the cheaper used cars for sale currently) making do with the 5" screen without sat nav.

So my advice would be to look for a 500X of 16 plate onwards if possible & check that it was a 2016 build with the altered spec level (and not a 2015 build that'd been hanging around a while). I suspect most/all 65 plates and all 15 plates will only get nav on the lower spec levels if it was added as an option, so these may not fit the bill (y)

How much are you expecting to pay for a used 500x, it may be worth looking at a new one as I did. The used ones where not that much cheaper with the discounts. Google "carwow" to see whats on offer with the satnav in, although I bought mine direct as the offers where not close enough to me. I think mine has the 5inch and its good enough for me as I only listen to the thing anyway. NitramA may need glasses lol. You could find one second hand and fit it I guess as these will soon turn up in the salvage yards

Probably true :D
I'd got used to a 10inch screen and the 5inch screen was just too small for me.
My phone screen is bigger and has better resolution so I'd rather use that than the built in one.
But as my wife keeps telling me I've been spoilt and have no grasp of reality.
She's always been a good judge of character so she must be right.
I absolutely get the fact that people must just have a built in unit rather than a bolt on though ( me included). It's just a shame car manufacturers are so slow to adopt Apple or Google in their cars, but then again they'll be giving away a lucrative revenue stream.

Thanks for the updates all..... The LANCIA is staying for now :) One more option - I've seen one or two of the 500X factory Nav complete units on ebay? How easy would it be to 'add' one of those? Are they plug'n'play or would I need some dealer SW updates?

Might be tricky as mine links up to the digital display and changes to nav here and there which can be handy when I get used to it. The DAB isn't fantastic reception but the small display of the nav hasn't been an issue as the lady on mine speaks quite loud and I don't look at the screen anyway lol
