Hi all,

Sorry if this has been posted but I don't know what to search for as I don't know what the feature is called.

I have recently bought a 17' plate 500 and I have noticed that if I lift the clutch up the revs climb I can only assume this is a feature so you don't need to give it a bit of gas to get off the line.

My issue is its really annoying :bang: and I wanted to ask if there is a way to turn if off?

Hi and welcome to the forum

"Think" this was added to over come issues with the general performance with Euro 6 compliance ?

It was; there was a lot of discussion about this on the forum at the time. Using the search function should bring up several relevant posts. Some of the early Euro6 cars were almost undriveable; there were several (negative) articles in the national press at the time, including some footage of the Stig spectacularly failing to get a 500 up a hill.

The easiest way to disable this "feature" is to unfasten (but not disconnect) the relevant clutch pedal sensor and tie it up somewhere out of the way. Don't remove it completely, or you'll get an error message appearing on the display.

Several folks have done this, and achieved the desired result.

Thanks for the welcome everyone.

That’s very interesting I never would have though it would be an emissions measure.

I will do some more research on the forum, thanks again ?

Just get used to it. Lots of modern cars have this feature nowadays. When you are getting used to it, you will also notice the advantages. For example, you need a pedal less to maneuver the car in a tight parking space.

I have a 2012 1.2 and the revs increase slightly from idle to 1,000rpm whenever I am stationary and I depress the clutch and engage first gear. It's never been an issue.
